Chinese site IT168 has managed to score an exclusive and very detailed preview of the upcoming Playstation Phone (aka Xperia Play). They confirmed that the handset will be powered by a 1GHz QSD8255 Snapdragon chipset, which features the Adreno 205 GPU. It will also have 512MB RAM, 512MB ROM and launch with Android 2.3.
The Neocore benchmark reported a much-improved score of 59.1fps, the last time the handset scored just 24.4fps highlighting that the software is probably being optimised constantly. It also scored an impressive Quadrant benchmark of 1,733.
The Playstation Phone will come with a 4-inch (854 x 480) display and a 5MP camera (no HD video recording is mentioned) with LED flash. Battery duties will be taken care by a 1500mAh capacity battery. Other features include a microSD slot and a second mic for noise cancellation duties.
