GSM Arena has posted a thorough preview of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo that is due to launch in a few weeks time. They struggled to find anything negative to say about the overall proposition, saying that it was a handset “worth waiting for”. They felt that the 3.7-inch screen was ideal for the average consumer and that most of Sony Ericsson’s big features (8.1MP camera with Exmor R sensor, Bravia Engine, HDMI, Snapdragon CPU) were included.
They also liked the “handsome” looks although it was a bit thick and the glossy plastics may cause an issue with fingerprint marks for some. The overall performance was almost as good as the Xperia arc. Although they did experience occasional lag, which could be down to the lower amount of RAM (380MB) versus the arc (512MB).
Marrying all of this together with a very competitive price point (Amazon.de is selling the Xperia Neo for €345 in Germany) is likely to see the Neo as a bestseller for SE. We have attached their hands-on video with the Xperia Neo below along with some video recording samples.
