CyanogenModAs expected, Sony Ericsson devices now have official CyanogenMod support. The latest version, CyanogenMod 7.1, has just been released and with it comes support for the 2011 range of Xperia devices including the Xperia arc, Xperia mini, Xperia mini pro, Xperia neo, Xperia PLAY and Xperia ray.

It was originally meant to be launched last week but the team came into some problems with the automated build system that delayed the release. The forums should be up shortly for the different devices. This would not have been possible without the great work that the FreeXperia team have put in and let’s not forget Sony Ericsson themselves who have been assisting the developers by providing 20 handsets and driver assistance. Finally having CyanogenMod support may be incentive enough for many Xperia owners to finally unlock those bootloaders!
