Right on cue, Sony has initiated the Open Beta of the PlayStation Suite SDK (software development kit). The PS Suite SDK is available to the public starting from today and is being made available free of charge. The SDK is targeted to developers, allowing them to easily conduct performance verification of their content on PlayStation Certified devices as well as the PlayStation Vita.
Sony plans to release the official version of PS Suite SDK along with the official launch of Developer Program for PlayStation Suite later this year, no timeline was given. This official program will allow licensed developers to distribute content through the PlayStation Store. As things stand there are a number of PlayStation Certified Xperia devices including the Xperia PLAY, Xperia S, Xperia ion and in Japan the Xperia arc, Xperia acro and Xperia acro HD. The Sony Tablet S and Tablet P are also PlayStation Certified devices.
