CyanogenModCyanogenMod has given the first details on their port to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. They confirmed that the next major version of CyanogenMod incorporating Jelly Bean will be called CyanogenMod 10 (CM10). Sony Xperia users will be glad to hear that as long as your phone was capable of running CM9 (with 512MB RAM) then you should have no problems running CM10.

As always with CyanogenMod, there is no ETA (and never will be), but they haven’t yet got hands on with the source code, so we’d assume it is still a while away. Despite this, the move from Android 4.0 (CM9) to Android 4.1 (CM10) is likely to be less painful than that from Android 2.3 (CM7) to Android 4.0 (CM9). The CyanogenMod team also confirmed that once CM 9.0.0 is stable they will then work on CM7 and CM10 only going forwards.
