In amongst the very exciting news about Sony’s new lens-cameras was a press picture showing the upcoming flagship, Honami. Andrea from SonyAlphaRumors very kindly sent over a larger resolution of the image so that we can get a closer look. So what can we tell about Honami that we haven’t been able to confirm before?
Well the image ties in exactly with most other Honami rumours we have seen up until now. First of all you can see the camera lens on the top left of the handset, with the LED flash underneath. There is ‘G Lens’ branding like we have seen in previous leaks. The image also confirms the glass back, much like the Xperia Z.
Moving onto the aluminium frame, it appears that the edges are coloured silver rather than anodised black. However, we’re not sure whether the whole frame is silver. We can’t tell for sure, but it seems like the flat sides of the frame are black and just the edges are silver – this may just be a trick of the light though.
In terms of buttons, there is a dedicated camera button and volume rocker next to the lens-camera attachment. To the right side we can make out a flap for either the SIM card or micro SD. The top of the handset has an open 3.5mm headphone jack, we imagine this is waterproofed in the same way that the Xperia Z Ultra is.
Honami is shaping up to be a very desirable handset and we can’t wait to see the finished article. Sony Mobile will formally announce Honami on 4 September 2013 at IFA in Berlin.
Thanks for the picture Andrea!
