Sony hints at Honami’s name

Sony Mobile has released many teasers for its upcoming flagship, the C690X codenamed Honami. We’ve seen both official teaser images and, earlier today, a very exciting teaser video. This is almost unheard of from Sony, who doesn’t normally provide such extensive teasers prior to announcement.

Maybe Sony’s hands were forced given the number of leaks we’d already seen? Although, we don’t think this is the case as Sony has been in this position many times in the past. To carry on with the Honami tease, Sony has even hinted at the marketing name for the handset.

Sony’s earlier tweets and blog post were entitled “3…2….what comes next?” This gives a strong hint and reference to the recently rumoured Xperia Z1 or Xperia Z One names. Whatever its name we can’t wait for the full reveal next week.
