In two days’ time, Sony will reveal three new devices – that much is pretty certain. These new products are likely to be the Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. There is compelling evidence from what we have seen over the last few months that these mobile devices will be announced for sure on Wednesday 3 September.
However, another entry-level model number that has been outed recently is the Sony D22XX (D2202, D2212, D2203, D2243). There is a possibility that Sony could also announce this model later this week, but obviously without the prominence of the flagship ‘Z3’ products.
9to5Google says that Sony will announce a new budget model in the form of the Xperia E3. It points to specs including a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 chipset, 1.5 to 2GB of RAM (which we think is very unlikely) and will sport a 4.8-inch (720 x 1280) display. This would mean a larger display against the phones predecessors – the Xperia E had a 3.5-inch display, whilst the Xperia E1 had a 4-inch display. We will wait to see whether this is part of Sony’s IFA line-up, not too long to find out.
Thanks Niek!
