We recently reported on Sony’s plans to open the world’s first underwater store in Dubai. The “Xperia Aquatech Store” is due to launch on 3 December 2014 and ahead of its opening a few pictures have been released to show what to expect.
The underwater store is located on the seabed, four metres below the surface. Trained divers will escort shoppers to its underwater shop where they can browse Sony’s water resistant phones, tablets and accessories.
“Sony Mobile has always been about elegant and premium design, with the Xperia Aquatech Stores, we wanted to put Sony’s pioneering waterproof technology on its smart devices at the forefront in a manner that would deliver an unforgettable experience to guests and fans in a visually, and emotionally powerful way,” says Spyros Gousetis, director of marketing at Sony Mobile Middle East and Africa.
The press release talks about the concept store being open for only three days, so this may not be a permanent fixture. It will be open to the media, competition winners and VIPs.
