Sony releases short FAQ on closure of Music Unlimited service

PSM-TileSony will be closing down the Music Unlimited subscription service from 29 March 2015. The service will be replaced with PlayStation Music, powered by Spotify. The PlayStation Music website is now live, with a placeholder promising further details shorty:

Spotify will soon be available on PlayStation Music, with a special offer for Music Unlimited customers who sign up at launch.

Sony has also released a very short FAQ confirming that Music Unlimited subscribers will not be able to use the service from 29 March. Details are also given on how your playlists can be exported to a CSV file. You can find the full FAQ below – as soon as we hear official details/pricing on the new PlayStation Music service we will let you know.

What is happening to Music Unlimited after March 29th?

From March 29, you will no longer be able to use Music Unlimited. However, we will soon be launching an exciting new music experience.

I’m a Music Unlimited customer; what does this mean for me?

If you have an active Music Unlimited subscription at the end of February 2015, you will be able to continue listening until the end of March, and you will not be charged during the month of March. Music Unlimited subscriptions will automatically expire on March 29 and will not renew again.

Is there a new service to replace Music Unlimited?

What will happen to my Music Unlimited playlists and the content in my Library?
You will no longer have access to your playlists and the content in your library after March 29, as Music Unlimited will be unavailable from this date.

*If you are a Music Unliimited subscriber, you can export your playlists to a CSV file by following the instructions on this web page. This web page will be available until March 29th, 2015.

What if I use Music Unlimited on my PS Vita, Bravia®TV, iOS or Android mobile?

If you are a PS Vita, Bravia®TV, iOS or Android mobile MU user, unfortunately you will no longer be able to listen to Music Unlimited after March 29, 2015.
