Sony Mobile has recently been rolling out a number of firmware updates to its smartphone portfolio, adding August 2019 Android security patches in the process. Sony has released new firmware to a number of handsets including the latest Xperia 1 flagship (55.0.A.6.16), and Xperia 10 mid-rangers (53.0.A.8.71).
Other updates with August patches include the Xperia XZ2 family (XZ2, XZ2 Compact, XZ2 Premium) and XZ3 through build number 52.0.A.8.131. The Xperia L2 also saw an update with firmware number 49.0.A.6.90.
Today, Sony started to roll a new update for the Xperia XA2 family (XA2, XA2 Plus, XA2 Ultra), which moves the update from 50.2.A.0.379 to 50.2.A.0.400. We haven’t been able to confirm whether this new firmware also includes August 2019 patches, or whether they are July 2019. If you own one of the XA2 handsets, please confirm in the comments below once you’ve updated.
Update: Looks like the Xperia XA2 family have the August 2019 security patches too.
