US retailer Best Buy has dropped the up-front fee on the AT&T Sony Xperia ion (LT28at). You can now purchase the phone for free, but will be subject to a two-year contract. If you go through AT&T directly, you’ll still be charged $99.99 upfront so it’s a decent saving. Best Buy also offers free shipping and store pick-up to sweeten the deal.
