Hello everybody,. I'm new here, and wanted to share my experience , and would like to see if anyone had the same? I got brand new z3c on ebay, got it, NIB, unboxed, used for a few hours. It asked me for the software update, which I did on Mac (Through Mac Bridge) It basically didn't finish successfully, so It kept rebooting and telling me that I didn't finish the update. I did some research and found a way on PC Companion to repair a bricked phone. All the steps went well, including Holding a VOL- button and plugging in the usb, but then it would kind of start downloading the software, but would stop in a couple minutes saying to "Check your internet connection". My internet was definitely up, I've tryed that for 2 days in a row.. So only way out was to send the device back to Sony to repair it, which I did, and don't know when it will make back. hopefully in next 2-3 weeks. On the phone though, the Sony Customer support specialist mentioned that the phone has been sold in Singapore. I'm wondering - if all this happened because I tried to update it in USA? Does Sony use different servers for different regions? and all this drives me to another question: -If in future, with a new update, the same thing is going to happen? Will I have to send the unit back to Sony, if the new update comes out? Any ideas, anyone? Just trying to get to the bottom of this issue.. Thanks for help in advance
Not really. If you read my post you'll see that I did try PC Companion which was giving me weird error that my computer is not connected to Internet. FIY My phone has been in Sony facility about a month now, they said they can't fix it so they'll replace it, but they don't have it in stock, so I don't even know when am I going to use that phone.
I hope you are kidding, and if not, maybe Sony should consider having a global server, not area-based. Btw my phone has bern at Sony facility over a month now.. They don't have in stock to give me a replacement.. This has been the worst experience with any company i have had in my life
