I apologise for a very basic question. If I want to downgrade the Android on my phone, I believe I need the flashtool and the appropriate Android image (and I am only considering Sony images eg downloadable by XperiFirm or from this site).
    • But, what happens actually to the firnware of the phone during such a downgrade?
    • Is it suddenly rooted or somehow unlocked and thus altered compared to its original state?
    • Or is it still the original Sony phone unrooted just with a previous version of Android and I can again upgrade just from the menu of the phone without having to use the flashtool again?
    • Can I somehow backup the current image of Android that is installed on the phone?
I am asking this since the information on the flashtool website are not clear, eg. it says: "Once bootloader unlocked, official Sony tools do not work anymore." But i do not really care about unlocking the bootloader for my purpose, I just want an official Sony Android lower version but I want the official Sony tools to work. So unless it is absolutely necessary, I do not want to unlock anything or root anything, simply want the way phone was before Android upgrade.

    Thank you.
