The Sony Xperia X Performance is meant to be the only water resistant device in the Xperia X family, with its IP65/IP68 certification. Well given Sony’s pedigree when it comes to waterproof smartphones, could it have secretly made the Xperia X water resistant? The video below appears to show an Xperia X placed in a tub of shallow water for a couple of minutes and have no side effects. The display works without issue, including charging and calling. We certainly don’t suggest you should be experimenting with your Xperia X underwater, but if Sony has ensured that your phone will survive any accidents than that is great news for owners.
