I got my Z2 a few weeks ago and despite some serious voice sound quality issues (resloved by switching off microphone noise cancellation) was pretty happy with it.

That is until 2 days ago. I stopped to pick up a piece of litter outside my house. Bent over and heard a pop from the front pocket where my phone was. Pulling it out I found that the phone had snapped across the line of the Sim and SD card ports. The screen had shattered and the phone was bent with 2 cracks beside the card flaps.

Sony want me to send it in to their tech support people but reading the internet this is an exercise in futility that will only result in them claiming the damage is not warranty covered and charging me to return it. I would return it to the retailer under the Sale of Goods act but unfortunately Phones4U went out of business just after I bought the thing.

So I am left with a phone that does not work, a 24 month contract, a heavily pregnant wife I cant speak to or contact in the daytime and absolutely no redress other than to post this and hope other people read it and think twice before buying this flimsy item.

lets be clear... this is not a case of using the phone inappropriately. If a phone cant stand up to being in a pocket it is not fit for purpose. So buyer beware... get a man bag or get a more robust phone. IMG_0245.JPG

I'm paranoid, I place it in my jeans just for the time I am moving. I take it out, when I am about to bend/sit down. + I barely take it out of the wallet style case.
