We have just been in touch with a Sony UK spokesperson who has confirmed that the Xperia Tablet Z will launch at the end of May. Sony says that this was always the intended launch date for the tablet, despite the website hinting at a mid-April release when the device first came up for pre-order. This was believed to be a glitch and all customers are being informed of the end-May launch date. This is consistent with the Sony UK pre-order page, which says that the Xperia Tablet Z will be available “from end of May”. Sticking the tablet into the basket reveals an expected delivery of 28 May – 29 May. Obviously, we all would have liked it to appear sooner, but being honest, that original mid-April launch was much earlier than we expected.
