hi everyone. i have problem with my xperia u.. when i bought it.. wifi is no problem. good connection. specially using youtube hd. but when i use my using the mobile network 3g and the tethering last week. and then this week i use again the wifi and now is disconnected if i connect to my wifi connection. it automatically disconnect..
I had a similar problem I had to change my router Wi-Fi to WPA rather than WPA2 since then it's been ok. Also if you update to ICS I believe there is a firmware Wi-Fi problem with that. Sent from my Xperia U
I changed the security to WPA but the problem still occurs. It connects to the router but after 1-2 mins all communication to the router stops for all devices.
Have you upgraded to android 4 as there is a wifi bug in the upgrade that so far sony have no fix for. If thats the case probably your best bet would be a custom ROM as the upgrade is not reversible.
Yes it upgraded to android 4. the phone is just 2 days old so am skeptical about custom ROMs... i have Xperia SL which has no problem with Wi-Fi... hopefully sony will come out with a fix.
My advice would be take the handset back and get a replacement. Keep the new handset on Android Gingerbread as this handset works much better on that ie you can do the on handset upgrades but not the upgrade offered when you link to PC. Your find not only should this work better with wifi but your handset will run a lot faster too.
I am from India, and unfortunately in India i cannot get the handset replaced... if i take it to the service center they would simply reload the same ICS... So i guess either wait till Sony fixes it or wait for at least couple of months till i dare to install custom ROMs... I have two routers.. the phone works well on Belkin router but has issues with Dlink. Both routers have the exact same network settings... i use two routers because of range issue. Dlink gives me better coverage in my house than Belkin... so the third choice is remain stuck with Belkin low range router. :-(
Have a look in XDA Developers forums there lots of info there then maybe you can make an informed odecision. One other thing you can try in wifi settings un tick notify of new wifi network's.
after i upgrade my xperia u, i got a wifi problem. cant funcion on. and make my phone restart and stuck in logo xperia. i try to flash with flashtool with official firmware. but cant Error code 0076 err dinamic "failed to set ta config. help me guys, how to solving this problem???????
