The Sony Xperia Z2 forum is now live, please use this forum for all discussions relating to this handset.

Sony Mobile has unveiled its new flagship, the Xperia Z2 (D6502, D6503, D6543), at the Mobile World Congress tradeshow in Barcelona. This is the same device that we have heard so much of recently under its “Sirius” codename.

The device is largely as expected and comes with a 5.2-inch FHD TRILUMINOS Phosphor LED display (424 PPI), with Live Colour LED powered by X-Reality for mobile. The new Live Colour LED technology uses red and green phosphor with blue LEDs and customised colour filters to produce a brighter and more uniform light according to Sony.

It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset (2.3GHz quad-core processor and Adreno 330 graphics) and 3GB RAM. The OmniBalance design is adopted from the Xperia Z1, it comes with a one-piece aluminium frame with front and back glass panels.

Camera duties are taken care of by the 1/2.3-inch 20.7 MP Exmor RS image sensor, Sony’s G Lens and the BIONZ for mobile image processing engine. New camera features include the ability to record 4K video (3840×2160 pixels/30p) and Timeshift video, enabling you to capture 120fps video footage at 720p resolution. There is also a new Movie Creator allowing you to trim and crop your videos, plus add slowdown effects with preview functionality.

The Xperia Z2 offers stereo speakers for the first time in the Xperia range. The handset also supports noise cancelling headphones (the MDR-NC31EM headset will be included in the box). Other features include 16GB internal storage (12GB usable), microSD memory card support, IP55/IP58 dust and water resistance, a 2.2Mp front-facing camera, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac), MHL, NFC, ANT+ and a high-capacity 3200mAh sealed battery capable of 15 hours of GSM talk time.

The Xperia Z2 has a thickness of 8.2mm (dimensions: 146.8 x 73.3 x 8.2mm) and weighs 163 grams. The Sony Xperia Z2 will launch in three colours (black, purple and white) with Android 4.4 KitKat in March 2014.

Hi, I am new to sony and just bought the Z2, which i find a brill phone but am having an issue with the new app - Live on Youtube, am wanting to use this because i have a Youtube channel and thought wonderful but i keep getting this error "please check if Google Play Service is up to date", i followed some advice on the main page around enabling Live Streaming events, which i did.

But am still getting the message, any help would be gratefully accepted.
