Sony formally announced the Xperia ZR (C550X) this morning and has us excited for it high levels of water resistance (IP55/IP58) and the inclusion of a dedicated camera button. This makes it the first high-end water resistant Xperia since the acro S to include the camera button. All of this combined, will make it an ideal smartphone for the pool or beach when taking snaps of family & friends. Yes, the handset is chunkier than the Xperia Z (C660X) and loses the glass back, but it is still attractive in its own right. It has a plastic back used to access the removable 2300mAh battery.
