And it is about 2.73 GB.

    Instructions:
    https://www.androidpit.de/sony-xperia-z5-android-update

You need only Xperifirm and Flashtool only and the rest is in an English... follow the instructions and Enjoy it ;-)
I have the AU Version, because it is not necessary which language version you downloaded it...

    Enjoy

    Thanks

This is the FTF file I've used

    "Device: Xperia Z5 (E6653)
    CDA: 1298-7277
    Market: Australia
    Operator: Customized AU
    Network: GENERIC
    Version: 32.3.A.0.372 / R4D
    Size: 2.71 GB"

It installed fine and yes I"m quite familiar with Flashtool.

I have read many comments on the internet of people saying that in Nougat they can't find the contacts/groups function.

How or where EXACTLY did you find the groups function ? Please detail the steps.

the Basic is same to follow on all Xperia devices.... and maybe you should also create a backup file from your original Android Firmware
which was installed at the time your purchased it.... normaly it is an Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

as i told you i have made a´backup from my Old Firmware Marshmallow version and planted it in Android Nougat so it takes in it perfectly....

but it seems you have tried to installled it as a new Version....

as above it is not only one methode to follow !!! there are many options as you can see... maybe one of them could function on your device....

    HI

thanks for replying I do apreciate it. However I'm having a bit of trouble understanding what you say you've done. you say you "
made a´backup from my Old Firmware Marshmallow version and planted it in Android Nougat so it takes in it perfectly...."

Did you mean a backup of the APK file relevant to the contacts function ? Or a backup of the contacts ? Or what ?

I have simply used an FTF file of nougat and Flashtool to flash the FTF 'over' the existing installation thus retaining all my apps and settings and information, however the nougat contacts functionalities seem different and I can't find the 'groups' function. I'm not the only person missing this either.

So, again, how/what did you do to retain the marshmallow contacts function within nougat ?
