BoxAt the end of last month, Sony Ericsson inadvertently let out that it was partnering with Box to offer 50GB of cloud storage for Xperia owners. However, details weren’t finalised at that time. Fast forward to today and Sony Ericsson has officially announced that this offer is now live.

Simply download the Box app to any Xperia handset and sign in to your account before 31 December 2012 and you’ll be granted 50GB of cloud storage for life. We’ve tried it this morning and can confirm it does indeed work. A very generous deal considering this level of cloud storage would normally set you back $19.99 per month from Box.

    Hi,

It’s a great initiative, but I think we don’t get the $19,99/month service for free. We only get an upgrade to 50Gb for the free account, but we still have the same restrictions. For example, I think we cannot upload or download a complete folder hierarchy.

Can’t install on x10 mini pro.

    Doesn’t work for me! :(

I already have free 50GB, an offer from BOX for an iOS device.
Is it limited to just one offer per account? I dont want to sign up again. Sigh.

Worked for me too on my ageing X10

It worked for my arc and x10 but like someone else said. Very limited to what you can do. 100mb file upload restriction applies. Can’t upload folders, just single files which is very annoying!

    works… Done it…

It worked for me, but there’s no desktop sync with this free version. I’ll stick to dropbox
