Is this the shell from the Sony Xperia U (ST25i)?

Xperia U ShellA few images of a shell have been leaked for what looks like an unannounced Sony (Ericsson) Xperia phone. The images only include the back cover of the phone and it looks like it carries the Iconic Identity design of the Xperia S.

The speaker placement doesn’t appear to match the images that were leaked of the MT27i Pepper, so we can only guess that this might be the Xperia U (ST25i ‘Kumquat’) or it could be an altogether different Xperia model. The images don’t reveal too much – we can see a headphone jack on the top, volume keys and power button on the side along with a dedicated camera shutter button. Click through for the pictures.

    Not necessary. If you look on the 2nd picture from top (inside picture), you will see there is no “bottom”, but you have the top (where headphone jack plug is). Same case like in Xperia S, but looks smaller. So possibly there is transparent strip, but like in XS, you cannot take it of.

    Why is there stil that green ball, they said that green ball will have just Xperia S/Ion in memory of Sony Ericsson :)

    They can’t remove it. It’s their logo. It won’t be a Sony (Ericsson) (smart)phone without the green ball. It’s one of the most sexy things on S(E) devices.
