New Xperia Tablet S firmware now available: Android 4.0.3 (release5)

New firmware is making its way to the Sony Xperia tablet S. The Android version remains at 4.0.3 but this release5 update brings improved Wi-Fi connection performance. Wi-Fi connectivity has been one of the criticisms from some users, so hopefully this new update rectifies those issues. The update should be rolling out as we speak.

Shame on you Sony, not to support Sony Tablet S and leave it to rust. Sony/Mobile should use the same connector as Sony Tablet S, share the same accessory, share the same update!!

You still cant keep wifi on when device sleeps. :S and socialife still keeps crashing

Interesting how the original tablet s also had a wifi issue at launch. For all those complaining bout it not maintaining wifi when in sleep, is it such a big deal?
This patch should allow for faster reconnecting of wifi after waking up like the similar patch did on the original tablet which is all you need.

This shows that Sony doesnt have a long term plan in mind to expand the ecosystem of original Tablet S. Even bugs and complaints are ignored. I wonder if the Xperia Tablet S would face a similar fate.

Hi guys. I just updated my xperia tablet with the last realese update 5 and the wifi issue is patial resolved . The wifi still disconnect but is reconnecting fast. But the big problem is that now the wifi connection get another big bug. It frizz and is not searching for wifi. Just stay fix and cant search and connect to any wifi network. And the problem is bigger even after restart or going on airplain mode the problem is not fixit. I just stay and look for a few minutes and sundden is connecting. I said WTF?

Bluetooth is screwed up some evil. It just.. It totally ripped the Skype functionality right out of my tablet.

My tablet just crash sometimes playing video’s from browser first some video glitches then bam tablet shutdown it has’t been common tough.
Anyone tell me this is a known issue and a fix for it if their is one ?

- @Weevelberry Maybe also try a 3rd party camera app to rule out software. You can try Camera Zoom FX on the Play Store for example., May 17
- @Weevelberry If the lens is clean with no dust obstructing the view, then try and reflash the phone with the latest software, May 17
