New firmware (7.0.A.3.195) certified for Xperia T/TX

It looks like some juicy new firmware is heading to Sony Xperia T and Xperia TX owners. The PTCRB website shows that firmware version 7.0.A.3.195 was certified for the Xperia T (LT30a) and is most likely heading to the LT30p international version, despite the latter only showing firmware version number 7.0.A.3.193 right now. The Sony Xperia TX (LT29i) also has version number 7.0.A.3.193 certified.

Whilst we have no idea what changes this new firmware will bring, there could be some reasonable improvements given the change in version number from 7.0.A.1.XXX currently to 7.0.A.3.XXX. The current ROM (7.0.A.1.303) runs reasonably smoothly from our testing so far, so we’re intrigued to see what changes this new update will bring. It could introduce the Miracast screen mirroring feature that is expected to launch in November. Hopefully there’s not too long to find out.

  • hopefully a camera fix or something.

The 7.0.A.3.X branch is the one that was on devices at IFA, so this probably brings updated media apps (with the new styling) and WiFi Miracast support :)

It’s a bit ridiculous to be announcing firmware update for a phone that cannot be bought yet (at least not here in North America), even though it’s been announced months ago. And to make it worst, there are rumors of Odin coming.

Yeah another update but still no TX in our country.. :(
