in Rumours, Xperia SP

Images of what is believed to be the upcoming Sony C530X (C5302, C5303, C5306), codenamed HuaShan, have leaked. Pictures of the LTE-enabled model (C5303) were left anonymously on the forum at German site USP-Forum.de. The images look legit to us, with the About screen showing that the handset is running Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, firmware version 12.0.A.0.298 and comes with the 3.4 kernel.

The pictures appear to show a prototype version of HuaShan, sporting a silver (or transparent?) chin on both the front and back of the handset. The pictures also confirm that it will use the new signature power button as seen in the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL and Xperia Tablet Z. Some kind of screw towards the bottom of the power button may also suggest that phone is metallic – could this be the spiritual successor to the Xperia P?

In terms of what we know so far about the phone, it is expected to run the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro MSM8960T chipset with a 1.7GHz dual-core processor and Adreno 320 graphics. It will also feature a 720p display. We look forward to hearing more details about the phone shortly, perhaps at MWC next month.
