The Xperia Z has a reasonably low SAR value

in Xperia Z and Xperia ZL

For some people, the SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) value of a mobile phone is quite a big deal. It measures the amount of radio frequency (RF) energy absorbed by the body when using the handset. The figure is measured in Watts per kilogram (W/kg) and the higher the value the more radiation is absorbed.

Each country has a maximum limit, for example in the United States the maximum SAR value is 1.6 W/kg, whilst in Europe it is 2.0 W/kg. These levels can differ depending on how each entity tests it, but thankfully Sony Xperia Z owners will not have to worry about it. Sony Mobile France confirmed that the SAR value for the Xperia Z is 0.55 watts per kilogram. Of course, if you are worried about these risks, always take precautions such as using a hands-free option.

    what a caring sony <3….not like others….

  • Zendrix Darren

    iPhone 4S: 0.98 W/kg
    iPhone 5: 1.18 W/kg
    Samsung Galaxy S3: 1.49 W/kg

Clearly, basing on SAR ratings alone, the Xperia Z is a “healthier” phone

  • ProWeirdo

Yeah, but still I would keep it at least 2 meters away while sleeping.

  • Anymous

Well, you’re still living aren’t you?

If you don’t get ill from this, you’ll get it from the sun or whatever else.
There’s just no time in life to worry about all the little things.

  • adsada_arc

lol I’d love to see sony advertise the phone in this way.

‘Get the new xperia Z, it’s one of your five a day’ haaha

    Galaxy S3 : 0.342 W/Kg
    iPhone 5 : 0.901 W/Kg
Galaxy note II even better : 0.171 W/Kg
    Check your facts…
And yeash it’s a good thing sony reduced the xperia z’s DAS, the xperia s had 1.3W/Kg ( In olther words the xperia S was DANGEROUS!)

  • feres13

What a caring sony, just 1.3W/Kg for the xperia s, it wasn’t dangerous at all ( SARCASM)

  • Zendrix Darren

My facts are correct, maybe its yours that you need to check. And one more thing, the Xperia S is not dangerous because if ever it has a SAR value of 1.3 W/kg since it is still way below the allowable 1.6 W/kg

  • Zendrix Darren

Xperia S is .78W/kg, they made a printing mistake on their white papers and officially announce that those are wrong

  • P9

one of numbers of reasons to say xperia z is the unique best smartphone of the world! :D love sony.

  • P9

shut up!!! & go away if u don’t like it! no problem, if no u… :/ @@ they say it because it’s the fact & we love it!!!

Not really, it takes me 5 seconds to stand up and move the phone. I’m not that lazy.

  • ProWeirdo

You don’t see the effects of this. The radiation simply makes your brain work worse after keeping your phone when you sleep. Obviously not after one night, it needs more time. Radiation created by phone affects you more during sleep. It kills your neurons. It’s not like that you will wake up after one night with paralised body or something.

  • Lukas

    My xperia LT15i –> 0.66W/Kg
    hmm..
    aino 0.79W/Kg

  • feres13

Since we’re talking about Sony Xperia France, i checked DAS of these devices IN FRANCE,

    Here you go : http://tawkon.com/blog/fr/samsung-galaxy-note2-exposition-ondes-minime

  • feres13

I’m not a hater, i’m just exposing facts, and if you can’t accept them then you’re just a pathetic fanboy.

  • Zack

Also remember that many of these phone devices, are measured in different ways. So keep in mind the all out comes varies.
