CM10.1We are pleased to report that owners of the latest high-end Sony Xperia handsets can now look forward to official CyanogenMod 10.1 support. Nightly builds of CM10.1 (based on Android 4.2.2) have started for the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia T and Xperia V. This is great news and will appeal to those who prefer a close-to-stock Android experience. Hit each link to download the appropriate file, although you’ll need an unlocked bootloader if you want to install a custom ROM.

Update: Xperia TX nightly builds are also now live.

  • I don’t give a Fuck.
I just want the fuckin JB on my Xperia S.
    Why Sony takes too long

  • ProWeirdo

If you’d have only 6-months-old flagship which doesn’t get system updates, you’d rage as much as others.

  • Pwntown

    Fuck this shit!
    Xperia S ain`t a highend phone?

  • Michael Chen

That’s old news, they haven’t support xs or ion.don’t know when.

  • Venator

Is there any working&not/working list? or doesn’t it work like that?

  • madao

    found one!

  • jake

It does have cm10 long time ago………..

  • Aj

I agree with you bro and all the xperia s users would be so frustrated….imagine galaxy s2 which was released in 2011 and competitor of xperia arc n arc s is running jelly bean….no wonder xperia s users are frustrated……I still feel the best phone as far as updates are concerned was SE xperia x10 which updated from 1.6 to 2.1 n then 2.1 to 2.3 and remember they skipped 2.2 froyo

  • Aj

You will be very happy when jelly bean is released….all is well that ends well boy :)

  • Hello. My name is Thiago and I keep coming to this blog hoping to see “JB released to Xperia S”.

  • I was going to buy an xperia Z once my S got jellybean (when?), but I know these update issues are probably going to carry over to the xperia Z.
I’m now planning on keeping my S until the bottom drops out, will wait till 2014.
Hopefully sony will get their act together then.
I’m really sick of this shit, with sony its two steps forward one step back lately.

  • and that’s why next phone will be galaxy s4. they dont have that nice UI but i know that i will get updates for the next 2 years on time.

  • Pfff give them a break already and sign the petition :)

  • Hopefully it be polished 100% bug free and 100% stable.
I be expecting the same thing from sony with my xperia tablet s and i will get furious if they did’t fix the random shutdowns………..

    Anyway petition :)

  • Bet this runs better then sony’s stock which is unstable and buggy lol :D

  • in 1 year it be angry xperia z users instead off angry xperia s users will have moved on to different brand :)

  • I’ve already signed that! o/

  • David Lettinga

It took 9 months to get Jelly Bean for Razr.

  • Other people that enjoy reading comments might not :P
remember when you signed i got like 150+ signatures from just that article xperiablog published.
The petition i advertised in comments ;)

  • I hope more ppl sign that! would be great! =D

  • Giuliano

Ok excluding the dorks/idiots/jerks claiming for.Xperia s updates and sticking to the topic: does anybody know a good guide on how to install the cyano on my Xperia z?
    I mean a complete walkthrough.
Thanks to anybody serious hanging around (although I already know that, thanks to the ot Xperia s crying children, this comment will get lost)

  • Giuliano

Go on, this is not the right place. If you want to spoil this blog keep staying off topic. Else, behave.

  • Giuliano

To the ADMIN. I don’t know what your policy is about moderation, but I would strongly advice that you start deleting off topics posts. This would calm the Xperia s children and make the blog comments much more useful.

  • They will and if sony remain silent any longer i’ll startup next stage.

i will still get an xperia z or xperia zl because i have used my brothers galaxy s3 and seriously guys i dont know how come galaxy s3 sold so much because its not a perfect device and its browser sucks and it sucks on multi tasking being a quadcore phone and it was very laggy on jelly bean 4.1.1 but now its smooth on 4.1.2….i think there is difference between samsung updates and sony updates…….samsung updates do not bring major changes in interface where as sony updates bring alot of changes and additional features and i think just need to show some patience and we will see 2 years updates support from sony for high end phones ;)

  • Madsham

Listening to you lot bitchin, boy am I glad I skipped getting an Xperia S :-!

  • Babylonbwoy

And what about talking about CM10.1 ?!!!

It’s preferable to flash unofficial build from xda dev said.

  • Csoka Laszlo

Xperia S owners is a most stupid peoples on the planet Earth.

  • pongnamu

This is a great news, which can make dev for that devices much better!

Didn’t the team at freexperia start working on 10.1 for Z quite a while ago?

  • how awesome! btw stock is still best for me. Sony has best UI. <3 sony the most! :)

  • hey! don’t kno? I think u don’t. Galaxy note noe still not yet get official JB ! problem? @@@ :/

  • AlexBurnout

    XPERIA S?!?!??!?!?!?!

  • Fred

Lol the phone’s had official Cyanogenmod support for the last month, the same devs have been working on it. In fact the nighties are currently far less stable then the unofficial builds posted at Xda. Unofficial just means any build not compiled by the Cyanogenmod build server. For guides and how to install etc. head over to Xda

  • filzo

will test it on xperia V.. -evil laugh-

I’d been thinking about getting a Sony Xperia Z for a couple of weeks. I read dozens of reviews and this one was quite useful , I got my delivery last month and am very happy. I Would highly recommend to anyone still unsure:
