Xperia Z 307 firmwareSony is following up the recently launched 10.1.1.A.1.253 firmware for the Xperia Z and Xperia ZL with another update. Firmware build 10.1.1.A.1.307 has just been certified for the Xperia Z (C6602, C6603) and Xperia ZL (C6502, C6503, C6506) on the PTCRB website.

The ‘253’ Android 4.1.2 Jelly bean update brought a number of improvements including the white balance app for the Xperia Z, UI changes and camera/performance enhancements. We expect the latest ‘307’ update to bring some bug fixes and could be one of the last updates before we see Android 4.2.2 make an appearance.

Thanks Max!

So much for bug-free updates lol (first!) (seriously, Dmitry needs to stop thumbing my comments down -_-)

  • Fake2

OMG, I sure that will never buy Sony device again because “flagsuck” xperia S

  • DoucheyTuesday

Chill out…Honami might be worth waiting for.

  • sfordesign

expecting customers to wait for sony phones after angering them? gosh customers ain’t that fucktard.

  • Julio Spinoza

I dont know what are you complaining, 6 different firmwares since January, means 1 by month and of course, the newest improve battery, lags etc etc etc, but in my C6602 the 253 is pretty good. Just to mention that Samsung s3 has more than 20 different firmwares and I am not including the regions or countries.

  • tony okoro

Indeed the 253 update, although bringing a number of improvements, just felt raw and unrefined. I hope this 307 update brings back some of the image processing algorithms that suppressed noise especially in low light pictures.
I think they went too far with 253. The overall camera performance needs improvement. The camera seems to take better, more focused and detailed images in cloudy conditions than it does in bright light or daylight conditions.
Having said that, the fact that it’s coming so soon after 253, means there’ll probably just be bug fixes and we’ll have to wait for 4.2 to see the next evolution in software from Sony. The 4.1 rom still feels very 2012ish.

  • James

seriously a new firmware for the xperia z and i’m still stuck on .434 and not even got the .253 yet and now another new one .307 so yet again uk unbranded phones prob take ages to receive the .307

Can always manual update via Flashtool, it doesn’t do anything to your phone, try connecting it via PC Companion and if still no go download the .ftf and install via Flashtool.

  • Keon Fraites

Oooo new update? Nice I like where this is going :)

  • VenetiCAT

See! the updates have been great so far.. Because they’re Sony phones! It’s looking like they’re listening to us consumers..

  • Babylonbwoy

It could be the last update but we’re not sure at all! Thought that .253 was the last one… Hope it wont turn in a Xperia S like saga.

  • justgotmyXZ

    +1 on this guy

  • Marco Antonio Maza Hernández

jajajaja “could be one of the last updates before we see Android 4.2.2 make an appearance” let me laught

  • Alaa

    Yes Yes Yes

Jelly Bean 4.2.2 Coming Soon , If this update the last

  • James

I’ve been checking since .253 was released and I don’t want to do a manual update with an ftf as I wanna keep my warranty

  • Keon Fraites

Updating via ftf doesn’t remove warranty if I remember correctly, you’re not unlocking bootloader when you use that method.

  • Felipeacydc

Muy rapido!!! ya quiero flashar mi ZL

  • Sana Sheikh

    how to use Flashtool??

  • James

Considering my boatloader is already unlocked as I took the option to get an unlocked and unbranded xperia z

  • revenant

damn it , where is our jelly bean on xperia s

  • blitz_arc

im living in Australia. initially i have the same problem no update since the time i bought my xperia Z. But after seeing lots of comment updating from singapore, i reinstall my PC companion and change the region to Singapore, immediately i got the previous update. No need to use flashtool anymore. :D

  • aligamz

If your bootloader is unlocked, then your warranty is already void. Go flash this firmware, no worries.

  • TheMonyo

you are referring to carrier lock (or unlocked whichever you prefer)
bootloader unlocking is different. It removes the restriction of having non-certified (3rd party devs) kernel/firmware being flashed to your phone.

  • Sunny Sandhu

Sony when will you gave a updation of android 4.2.2 on xperiaz

  • It sucks to be hearing about these updates when I don’t even have my ZL at the moment :/ I had it for 3 damn weeks and it broke down! Such bull. $574 down the drain. At this point, Sony has literally had my phone longer than I did -.-

  • Z

Here in Malaysia I update to .253 via OTA no need to open laptop and update via pc companion

  • Z

    Technology never ending rite??

  • Z

    English pls man

  • gromm

how do you do this !? “reinstall my PC companion and change the region to Singapore”

  • gromm

with the proxy parameter of course sorry ^^

  • Kenny-Tetsuya

It seems that 4.2 is coming soon?

  • lix

    why 10.1.A.1.350 not in list?

  • Jero

He’s talking about an unbranded version

  • blitz_arc

simply just choose it as your region before installing it. sounds weird, but it works on me. :)

  • Echo

I am still waiting for the 4.2 update like the sony promised tough

  • Franky03

Stop bitching about Xperia S….no wonder Sony neglects Xperia S users because they are sooo stupid and annoying

  • Gip

I received update .253 yesterday. I live in Italy. Gip

  • James

When I got my xperia z it had its bootloader already unlocked as I didn’t get my xperia z through a carrier /network as I got mine through phones 4u here in the UK as I thought I’d get updates fast

which is new i hav 10.1.1.A.1.253 if this is old how can i got new 1

  • Anzilleo Kristello Mozihim

And the update is already here.

  • Hi

White balance will appear after you updated to 10.1.1.A.1.253 which is after 10.1.A.1.434

  • Babylonbwoy

Not all fw approved by PTCRB are available to public. Maybe they approved 6 but I only saw three of them. Never saw a ftf of 395 and 431. We’re talking about update so I don’t count 326…

  • eddie

Another one???!!!! Wtf, I didnt get 253 update yet… (uk unbranded) Well that sucks… Surajweb: 434 was the first one (claimed to solve the sudden death issue…) 2 weeks ago 253, now 307.

  • rus_media

    Me too

  • rus_media

    You will get it “Soon”

  • rus_media

    May be next year

  • Russ

i have o2 uk branded xperia z and i have not got the 253 update yet. dose anyone know if o2 have approved this update?

  • Peter

connect your phone and use Sony PC Companion for update

  • XcDcS

    What’s the hurry?
    The phone works perfectly.

  • Deads

Why are you waiting for the 4.2 update?
Most of the important stuff that other phones got in 4.2 Sony has already implemented in 4.0 or 4.1 (cant remember).
The only big stuff in Sony’s 4.2 should be Sony tools/software and not Android stuff.

  • ekoaugustra

Only received .253. Where is .307? I think they going to release 307 to uk only. :(

  • ron3000

    haven’t even got .253

  • Taufan

still using .253 in Indonesia, anybody has try 307?

  • Peter

why uk? no relase in uk yet

  • ekoaugustra

really? my uk friends have got .307 -_-

  • yut

    hot to update
    New firmware (10.1.1.A.1.307)

  • Tobias Hedlund

What´s the difference from the 253 update? Do u live in the UK?

  • Tobias Hedlund

In which countrys are the 307 update avalible?

  • Apollo89

No single phone comes from a store with its bootloader already unlocked. Even phones that are not locked to any network still have their bootloader locked!

  • Uday Mantur

I own a Xperia Z from a month now, no updates as such. I have checked the updates through OTA as well as PC companion. I am from India, so the update is definitely out. My friend who also owns a Z got the update but not me. Can some one tell me whats wrong here and what should I do to get the official update?

  • Paul

Hallo all. Any O2 UK users with the Xperia Z received this update as yet?

  • Gintä Ph?m
  • EmptySpaces

someone on xda already receive this update, I think it will start to rolling out today :)

  • Lemage

I just dip the phone in water if it ever overheats, block the speaker with your thumb though unless you want the audio to be distorted for a few hours.

  • Lemage

If you’re relying on a carrier to roll out the updates it might take a while.

  • lemage

Belgium has it unbranded so far, people are looking into trying to get the ftf uploaded but no one’s biting.

  • lemage

UK isn’t going to get 253, well, they havent so far, the theory is that they’ll skip ahead.

  • lemage

“Soon” meaning wait another 3 months. If we’re lucky maybe they’ll roll it out in july (meaning september)

Still waiting for the update to become available on my handset! Disappointed with sony. Very slow and poor customer service. They rudely didn’t respond to my tweet I sent them. Very poor. Back to Apple for me!

  • Nemanja Raškovi?

  • Dominic

I just recently updated my xperia z firmware to. 253, some features were improved/enhanced (im happy to that) but the camera gets worst, its blurry/noise most specially in low light even i’ve set it to “superior auto”. Sony is know with a superb camera but what happen to xperia z did not meet the “sony” camera quality, Sony should have look to this and improve the camera quality! Nowadays camera quality is one factor that should always be considered. Im always be a Sony fan!

  • Kevomarz

It would nice to get the .253 update!

  • Salve Albello

so that’s why they made it waterprofed,… to cool down your phone when overheating, just dip it in cold water. Ü

  • josesl16

    Well, that’s liquid cooling alright.
