Sony has unveiled the Xperia C4 (E5303, E5306, E5353) and Xperia C4 Dual (E5333, E5343, E5363) selfie smartphone with soft front-facing flash. The phone is a follow-up to last year’s ‘PROselfie’ Xperia C3 (D25XX) which was the first Sony Xperia to feature a front-facing flash.
The Xperia C4 has a 5MP Exmor R front camera with 25mm wide-angle lens and a 13MP Exmor RS rear camera. The front camera has SteadyShot technology and AR mask, letting you add fun effects to your selfies.
In terms of specs, the Xperia C4 has a 5.5-inch (1080 x 1920 pixel) IPS display giving a pixel density of 401 PPI. Bezels are reasonably small too with a screen-to-phone ratio of 71.68%, putting it only behind the Xperia ZL and T2 Ultra.
The handset is powered by the Mediatek MT6752 chipset with 1.7 GHz octa-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor and Mali-T760 GPU. Other specs include 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage (10GB available), microSD memory card support, NFC, Bluetooth 4.1 and a 2600mAh battery. The Xperia C4 has dimensions of 150.3 x 77.4 x 7.9 mm and weighs 147 grams.
The Xperia C4 and Xperia C4 Dual will launch in three colours (black, white and mint) at the beginning of June 2015. Sony only plans to launch the device in ‘select markets’ so don’t expect a global release. Much like the Xperia C3, we expect the Xperia C4 to be marketed heavily across Asia.
