It’s available for Z as well, though only for a very limited number of customizations:

  • Nitrous2

Well, so far very laggy. A lot. Apps crashed multiple times and the screen gets hot. This is within the first minutes of use. — Only thing to do now is a clean install… Will update soon :)

and when will the official update comes to my xperia z (c6603) here in germany? iam waiting so long for the lollipop :(

  • illstplaya .

I want to do the update but I’m not sure if I should. Based on all the other problems that I’ve been hearing about with anything before lollipop 5.1 I might wait.

How to get Lollipop On Xperia Z (C6602)

I can confirm this actually works if u cannot be more patient to get lollipop. enjoy!

  • WilliamTell13

So I just updated a little bit ago and it seems pretty good so far. It was a little laggy at first, but after Google Play services updated and a couple other things, it seems fast and smooth now. We’ll see how it goes as the week goes on.

It’s pretty fast and no issues with lag. I am having a problem with the GPS/Location. It cannot find my location on Maps or Yelp. Is anyone experiencing these problems?

  • illstplaya .

I would really appreciate it if you could keep me updated. I’m still hesitant to download it because of issues I’ve been hearing about with the camera not having a smooth motion while your hand moves and also I’ve heard people saying that the volume for the speaker and earpiece are a lot lower.

  • Nitrous2

So lag is gone within use. Lag was only a problem at the beginning after installed. Very noticeable speeds “ART compared to Dalvik”. Problems I still encounter is the screen getting hot and the camera lags. Will post camera samples of KK vs LP

When I first updated, it took forever to get a lock. But it’s been fine since. I think there’s a cache that gets built, but the default thinks you’re somewhere far way and it takes a while to figure out which satellites to look for.

  • Gary Ohanian

Keep it running and connected to wifi for a bit. I found it kept downloading and updating things for the first few times. Restart a couple of times too. Mine’s been fine since the first few hours

  • illstplaya .

Thank you for the update. Im interested in those camera comparisons.

  • WilliamTell13

The camera seems the same to me. The volumes also seem the same. The battery does seem to be draining quicker, but I think that’s just Lollipop in general. I don’t regret updating at all, but your mileage may vary. Some aspects of the phone actually seem faster, like Google Maps and the keyboard popping up, amongst other things.

After update and shutting down cell phone. My Google voice want work when I try using it inside my sony keyboard. Any body else have this problem? What is the fix for it? I opened up my Sony text app and when I push onto the Google voice microphone, nothing happens.

  • Just checked and the update is available for the US. DL’ing now!

Updated this morning. Well attempted to… Got the original lollipop update a few weeks ago and found it crashed apps, pretty jitty in some screens and destroyed my battery life. So, I thought the new update was to fix some of that. How wrong I am.

Since 8am this morning my phone has been stuck with the little android man on the screen. No loading bar, no other information. Supposed to take 8 minutes to download…

I’ve tried pressing the little red button and it has no effect. Any suggestions…?

does anyone know if root stays through ota, and/or if you can re-root with kingroot? also, if xposed installs via apk..

  • Keon Fraites

I swear Android M is going to officially release before I get 5.0 on T-Mobile xperia Z3…

  • Danny

My 3 sisters have Z1s (T-mobile). I want to know what are the bugs and issues currently with the .236 before I have them upgrade. I currently uses the Z C6606 (T-Mobile) which is still on 4.3, woe me. When will it get any updates, I would’ve been happy for 4.4.2 KK for my Z.

  • MurF-A-Zoid

I say it’s safe to up date to lollipop 5.0.2. Just after update, reboot or shut off your cell to get everything in order. It will take around 2 days for the system to fully understand the z1s. It’s normal, remember your updating the O/s. So the new software needs to adjust to everything inside the z1s. Hope this helps.

I’m having the same issues. Did a clean install fix?

  • Marco Antonio

don’t flash this ftf into unbranded z1s, it will only hardbrick it
