Japanese carrier NTT docomo has announced it will launch the Sony Xperia A4 (SO-04G) on 18 June 2015. The Sony Xperia A4 is almost identical to the global Xperia Z3 Compact, although it comes with a plastic rear rather than glass. It will launch for 77,760 yen (£406, €561, $630).
NTT docomo’s strategy here is to offer near-flagship specs for a relatively cheaper price, a similar strategy that brought it success with the Xperia A2. Specifications include a 4.6-inch 720p display, Snapdragon 801 chipset with 2.5GHz quad-core, 16GB internal storage, 2GB RAM, 20.7MP rear camera, 2.2MP front camera and a 2600mAh battery.
