No USB Type-C for Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact confirmed by new leak

by XB on 6th August 2015

in Rumours, Xperia Z5 series

Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact bottomWe seem to be getting one new leaked picture a day from @vizileaks of the upcoming Sony Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact flagship devices. This time round, the leaked picture shows the bottom of both handsets, confirming that Sony’s latest Xperia Z series flagships will not feature a reversible USB Type-C port.

Adoption of USB Type-C is expected to ramp up as we move into 2016, but some devices that launch this year will also feature the new port such as the OnePlus 2 as well as rumours around the next Nexus device. The picture also shows that the Xperia Z5 Compact will be slightly chunkier than its bigger sibling, with a slightly different design with no corner caps. Are you liking what you see so far?

Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact bottom

  • DonRox

I like the flatter sides more than the rounded slippery sides on my z3. And Micro usb ain’t a must yet

  • Utsav Shah

you mean USB type-C, isn’t it?

  • DonRox

Oh sorry. I did mean type-C. Amended!

  • Alvin

yeah better I have waterproof than dump waterproof for type-c, because they’re still testing it, and also, we don’t need that yet

  • Alvin

    *usb type c ain’t a must yet

  • Alvin

don’t they look like grey, than black? or is it just lighting?

I’ll save my other judgement after they officially announce it

  • Exodite

    I prefer the Z3c look I admit.

The corner caps have saved my device more than once already and I while I don’t feel the Z3c needed to shave any width I see precious little reason to make it thicker either.

I really don’t understand why the device needs to be thicker than the bigger sibling, it’s always been my understanding that it’s the camera module and optics, and to a lesser extent the display, that dictates Z-depth and surely those are all the same in both devices.

  • blurb8

I can live with the “thickness” of the compact…. IF it means wireless charging AND a big (~3000mA) battery….

  • No big deal. Just make sure the rest of the phone is good.

  • 3rdflyleaf

I think this will be the final omnibalance design.
The compact version has always been slightly chunkier and that’s not a bad thing.

  • Neh doesn’t matter, i kinda dig the design, it’s blockier than ever :)

  • What about the battery? It is a pretty important factor in thickness. If the device is smaller, the battery needs to be larger on the Z-axis (thickness) because it’s smaller on X and Y axes (width and height).

  • Kotatsu

    SD 810 on compact version….
    Sounds “hot”, huh?

  • Exodite

While true there’s no reason why the Z5c battery should take more place than the Z3c one.

Generational differences means that batteries get more efficient at the same size and phones, generally speaking, more energy efficient.

Sony should be able to fit a similar or larger (in Wh rather than physical dimensions) in the same space with the Z5c.

  • Confruggy

It’s the lightning. Leaks always looks worse than official.

  • Madis Otenurm

    Looks good.

  • Augustine Kau

yes, no type C for now pls, because it does not support quick charge 2.0. one plus 2 as perfect example: took 3hrs plus to charge to 100%,nope just too long for me

  • iia3ezu

With such minimal changes let’s call it the Xperia Z4+ … or is that too confusing for some of you?

  • jumbo3220

it’s ok to be chunkier if they put a bigger (around 3000mAh) battery in it.

  • fluxx

As long as I have several other devices with Micro-USB I don’t care about USB Type-C, because I just have to bother with another connector type. I really like everything I’ve seen so far about the Z5. (The compact version looks a little bit thick at least on paper.) But the only thing I really care about is how much better the camera will be – that’s my key selling (buying) point this year.

  • Tjaldid

You can buy reveresable Micro-USB anyway

  • iia3ezu

USB-C would have future-proofed the phone a little better, but with Sony on a ‘rapid release’ business plan, that’s kind of pointless, isn’t it?

  • zymo

The Z5 Compact is rumored to have OIS that’s way it’s a bit thicker than Z5.

  • The problem is, what if the Z5C uses Snapdragon 810, or, even worse, 808? Those chips are anything but efficient and they have no choice other than to put in a big battery to counter them.
Battery technology has evolved from last year, but unfortunately, probably not enough to be able to make a 3000mAh, or even 2900mAh, battery the same size as a last year’s 2600mAh.
As a related example, the Z3 had a 3100mAh battery and was 7.3mm thick. The Z3+ has a 2930mAh battery, which is exactly 1.058x less, and its thickness is 6.9mm, which is – you guessed it – exactly 1.058x less. The difference is proportional which means the same battery technology was used.

  • Alvin

lighting mate, lighting.. you don’t want to stroke your phone with lightning. :D:D

yeah they always use potato to capture all those leaks

  • Alvin

and the worst part, the same potato they use to capture every leaks

  • Amir

You are wrong. usb type c has a waterproof version. there is not problem implementing ip68 with usb type c.

  • Exodite

I’d say the devices will very likely use the 810, Sony has been pretty consistent with using the latest Qualcomm chips for their high-end devices.

And in that case there’s nothing that can realistically be done. You’re going to get worse battery life across the line regardless, again I don’t see why the Z5c should be any different.

Your battery analogy is poorly made I’m afraid, as there’s no evidence to suggest that the battery scaling vs. device thickness scaling is anything other than coincidence. That said I get your point, but in that case the full-size Z5 should also be similarly thicker to match the Z5c.

It seems weird that they’d go with a proportionally smaller battery on the larger device when it has a larger, and more dense, display to drive.

  • Alvin

what? really? but still they’re still testing it or somebody would complain and he/she said ‘false’ marketing because his/her phone isn’t waterproof after all because of a faulty phone. Let them just do what they want for now because their financial is down and they’re restructuring-_-

  • Alvin

the compact looks a lot (well not that much) thicker than the original. I know they always did that with it’s predecessors but if that means larger battery or bigger camera sensor, I’m sold.

  • gamer324

Just means my current otg cable will work fine. XD
Seriously though, while a jump to type-C is great future-proofing, the accessories right now really are quite overpriced.

  • Amir

I think they can implement it now but they just have other features in higher priority that they want to add.

  • gamer324

It’s a smaller footprint, so it has to be thicker to accomodate a decent battery and the camera without any humps (same reason why the iphone 5 so much thinner than the iphone 4, longer device meant more space internally).
That’s why tablets can be crazy thin too, because of all the increased 2d-space.

  • Alvin

about that thickness part, wow, I haven’t discovered that before.. So they made Z3+ with SD810 in order to be up to date, but because they had overheating risks, so they should sacrifice something, and that is battery, they turned down the capacity and to make it just feels better to our hearts, they also made the phone thinner, so both z3 and z3+ are basically the same thing with some twist and tweaks.

But it’s just, I could have been happier if they use the same S801 or use S805 rather than S810, and also 808

  • Alvin

yeah I knew that, that’s a basic science to me lol :D:D

  • Alvin

    totally agree

  • Alvin

what made you thought that way? :D

  • Snapdragon 805 would be the best choice in my opinion as the 801 is outdated, the only problem could be if Qualcomm isn’t selling it anymore, to force OEMs to use their latest and not-so-greatest chips.

  • Ibrahem Salah

    This device looks horrible

  • Brick

The Z3 on 5.1.1 is so nice I feel no need to upgrade. They should do like Samsung and ruin devices with updates, make them slower and laggy, full of bugs and battery drain, so people will be forced to buy the new model, and Sony will enjoy the profits and increased sales.

  • xperiaDROID

Before Z3 launched, “I think this will be the final OmniBalance design”, and then Z3 launched…same shit.

Before Z3+/Z4 launched, ” I think this will be the final OmniBalance design”, and then Z3+/Z4 launched…same shit.

And now… before the Z5 launches, “I think this will be the final OmniBalance design”, same shit?

And keeps repeating on future Z’s. Just admit the fact that Sony can’t think of a better design so they decided to stick with the current one with minor changes. I already gave up on Sony in terms of design, just give me a better camera and the same great battery life or else fuck off from the mobile world and stick with the fucking PlayStation and Bravia.

  • xperiaDROID

Do you know that we can jump to other ship instead of sticking with Sony? They won’t earn a single cent from me if they really do that.

  • valentino

well.. that is the final or the goal of project Z. a smartphone that is fast, smart, simple and elegant with beautiful UI that best for music and watching video. and they are slowly reaching that goal. this is the good and the bad. the good one is this project is a very long project and it reaching its goal slowly as the technology growing with time which means more profit. the bad one is the consumer seems forced to buy the new one as the new one will be better than before but it’s seems all the same.
so? I am an ex- Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z3 user i see there is no difference between 2 but if you look the details. how it feel. Xperia Z3 is much better than Xperia Z2. even though I am using Galaxy S6. I still miss the Xperia Z3 experience. the noise cancelling technology and waterproof and i want to use it again. they seems the same but when you use it you will know the difference. details make difference.

  • Dion

I like the design and why should they fuck off from the mobile division? I think youre the one who should fuck off, go buy an other phone then

  • theskig

    Ahahah you’re right :)

  • Me

I don’t think the compact is actually thicker than the Z3C, but the design with a single edge piece makes it look chunkier

  • xperiaDROID

Oh, so you like the design? I won’t judge. But you would still get it if it doesn’t have a better camera and great battery life? That is just seriously brainwashed.

Don’t go all that communism to me, we all have our freedom of speech. I come in peace. :)

  • And a bigger sensor…!!! :)

  • Alvin

i mean thicker than the original z5, not the z3c

  • itsmeeee

LOL that is so true. And the Samsung sheep will still buy their shit like Timmy

  • itsmeeee

Yh the texture looks weird and cheap, also the colour is off. It’s brown and that makes it look horrible.

  • xperiaDROID

I understand, but I still can’t accept that the successor didn’t change much from the predecessor, that’s why I’ve been sticking with my lovely Z for more than 2 years.

Maybe I will get the Z5 if it has a better camera and same great battery life and probably more innovations that makes it stand out from the competition. But if any of these are lacking, I have no choice but to jump ship.

  • Brick

It seems that on Samsung users just jump to the latest model after they ruin a device with updates. I have a galaxy S4 and on lollipop it’s absolutely awful, buggy, laggy and with worse battery life, I wonder how many got the s5 or s6 after their S4 became awful too.

  • Brick

Most likely that’s a pre production device. It will most likely change when they officially announce it.

  • Brick

They can’t think of a better design because omnibalance is the best design possible that combines classy looks and usability and ergonomics while also maintaining reliable waterproofness. Why change what is not broken?

  • Zidhin Mohd

Next leak might come regarding the camera…

  • Notification light on the top right of the Compact?

Compact reminds me of the ‘mono’ concept from the leak

  • Off topic—

Here’s how Google is trying to fix the bug that can crash 95% of all Android phones and tablets with a single text message

“Google says the most popular Android phones will get the update in August, which includes the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, the Galaxy S5, the Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge, the HTC One M7, One M8, and One M9, the LG G2, G3, and G4, Sony Xperia Z2, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z4, and Xperia Z3 Compact as well as all Android One devices.”

Both phone are thicker than the previous
So we can assume this models may include
OIS and Bigger battery because of QHD screen

  • Thariq Mohammed

    Why display not reflecting?

  • Sharique Ansari

Other than Z4, Z3 & Z2 would there be update for Z1 and original Z series to solve the Stagefright issue.

  • I_can_wait_4ever

I will wait before I judge!

  • Ricardo Ca

That is not cool. I hoped to see it already on Z5.

  • PoweredBySony

I really don’t care about that usb type-c . This will be my next phone if it has sd820 4gb ram and a new camera sensor.

  • Kadek

And we don’t need USB type-C yet. I will get one of this

  • Svnjay

Sony really needs to release a highend phablet. They haven’t done that since the Z Ultra.

  • Husam

i think it’s gray-ish, but looks kind of brown because of the warm lighting…

  • Nuno

I need help, yesterday i did a reseset on my phone using the repair tool from the pc companion and it went well. After restarting the phone i noticed that the phone had been locked for protection, and the only way to unlock it is by inputing the google account. Because of the factory reset the phone has no settings done, and it locks before i can do the intitial settings. This is the android device management that thinks the phone was stolen. Any ideas on what to do to bypass this screen.

  • Shubham Mutreja

maybe matte display like xperia ray had anti reflecting coating on its display?

  • Shubham Mutreja

    better have usb 3.0!!

  • Jonfensu

Seems like the Z5c has a Y and Tube design. I like it

  • Kotatsu

    No.. no…
    Micro USB 3 is ugly.

  • marcyff2

    that name….. that comment…..

  • Micheal Archer

Z4+ in Japan, Z3++ in the rest of the world!

  • apolloa

The Z5 Compact just looks plain ugly. That colour really doesn’t suit it’s design IMO.

  • apolloa

They have screwed up the update for the Xperia Z3 Compact Tablet, it installed over the air the other day on my device and Sony hasn’t bothered to the cellular signal meters on the lock screen, so every time you have the lock screen it displays no signal, mine is the WiFI only model… not very professional.
Also the battery is running down quicker and the new You Tube system in the new Chrome is rubbish but Sony didn’t make that.

But it would be nice if they remove the cellular signal metre on the lock screen and improve my battery life!

  • kaostheory

New XB doesn’t play well with Z3 on any browser. What did they test it on? An iPhone?

  • kaostheory

I think the design is great, but maybe putting some displays and or lighting on sides and back would be kool.

  • kaostheory

When haven’t they added a cool new feature? The most recent is wet finger tracking which imo is way more useful than the over hyped force touch. Was just eating and surfing the other day and dripped dressing on my phone that rendered it useless till I wiped it off. Tbs, I am looking forward to force touch also.

  • I_can_wait_4ever

    Im old

  • Ibrahem Salah

i wish cuz it looks so bad

  • Chaturanaga Manchanayake

Yeah I’m considering about Motorola and LG next time even the next nexus since Sony’s not addressing about the poor camera performances and not having manual controls. Software I know that they’ll update properly. They learnt from past but now it’s time they get up and show the world that their capable of making great camera phones.

  • Simi401

Made my Day, Bro :P :’)

  • Chaturanaga Manchanayake

I agree with you most of the parts. You know it’s really the person who makes the camera software and drivers, and design wise I think they’re really lazy with coming up new design. And bravia I don’t think that they do well on that. People buy LG or Samsung. Seriously I tolerated Sony’s behaviour with time. Updates camera performances but they improved and listened but then later on idk I am bit tired of their lack of improving the camera quality. They didn’t even release Z3+ with camera api2 which will be huge benefit on sales but they were arrogant in that part. Meanwhile all the other OEMs are using their sensors and releasing super fast camera performances and great results. I’m just disappointed in that.

  • Darren Johnstone

What does omnibalance even mean? The phones are not symetrical

  • Stanley08

1 day, 1 leak. Before release, u will find indept reviews on YouTube. Sony should protect/hide their phones better. We want to be surprised when the phone is released.

  • This is the biggest reason why I’d be afraid of getting USB C on the Z devices. I don’t ever put my device under water on purpose, but I like knowing that I don’t have to worry if it gets wet. Losing the waterproofing isn’t worth USB C if that’s not compatible yet.

  • Arda Akca

Well frames should have been silver imo. That would go well especially with the Z5C.
Breathing notification led around the power/fingerprint button would have been cool. Simple touches make the difference.
For the colors, where is the Playstation Blue?

  • costunga

I think I don’t like the Desgin of the compact. Looks like a copper ingot in this picture. Very few design elements. At least the corner could have been more rounded. Something similar to the iPhone 6 back outline would have been nice. Even if it was chunkier.

  • vigneshprince

i think the z5 compact will looks so gorgeous, it’s good for a compact mobile which packs mostly same from its borther! I would love to get my hands on Z5C

  • El_Carnicero

    What for?

  • El_Carnicero

OIS is not necessary. Sony’s own steadyshot is good enough.

  • Amir

selective reading? usb type c has a waterproof version!!!

  • Alvin

Yup that is my concern too

Well every words you said are just a plain so sh**ty super right. lol :D

about battery drain, when I use my z3 for youtube at morning with wifi, and stuff like that at school, also use line app, browser, etc, with mobile networks, at every noon in jakarta where it is warm, and at 80% mark I’m at 1 hour and 9 minutes screen on time while my mom’s s6 edge with plain use of just email, whatsapp, a tiny bit of browsing, with wifi/mobile networks, at every noon in jakarta INSIDE HER CAR where it is cold, and at 60% mark her phone is at 1 hour and 3 minutes screen on time.

And she’s running 5.0.2 at that time, where I’m running 5.1.1 at that time, and then, because there is this ‘bug’ with s6 series after 5.1 update which make the battery life even sucker, I don’t know now how bad the battery is in that thing right now after I updated her phone in the last 3 hours, because the battery is at 10% after update, so she charged her phone like 30 minutes after I updated her phone.

But her s6 charges pretty fast, and just a few minutes ago i’m a bit shock when I saw that her phone didn’t connected to charging port, so I knew that the charging is finished, when I see her s6 edge, she’s watching youtube just for few minutes and I saw “80%” mark at the status bar battery indicator, and I just smiled at it like an evil person. Because her s6 edge drains pretty fast haha, it charges super fast and drains fast too lol

  • What? No Z5 Ultra~!?

  • Alvin

hell yeah.. sony is a bit slow on updates than them but what sony brought is fine, refined, at less bug updates with noticable changes here and there.

I don’t even understand what they bring with their lollipop update.

that’s why android updates on sony phones always brought excitements, can’twaitments (:D), rage, and joy.

  • Alvin

wait…just wait.. just remember and think about “E6833” model number in your mind and keep smile.

  • Exodite

The 805 has the same CPU as the latest iteration of the 801 though, it’s mainly the GPU that differs and that’s not nearly as relevant since we’re not driving FQHD screens here.

That said I can’t see Sony “regressing” on the CPU even though the 810 is a power hog.

  • Juan C. Arango

I Think this design was for “Not being look like Iphone 6” in any way… Like Samsung did with the S6 and S6 edge :V

  • Exactly, it would be stupid to regress the CPU. However, they do have the option of Snapdragon 620, but I’m not sure if it’s going to be available in September.

  • J Cav the Great

The Z5C is scaringly thick. However..What if it comes with OIS???!!! And a 3000mah Battery?!?! Also…yeah, no need for type-c just yet… I’ll get a phone with type-c in maybe 2017…I hope T-Mobile decides to offer the Z5c

  • Shubham Mutreja

well hell we dont even want usb 3.0 becoz we dont charge our phones by computers and most of my friends doesnt even have usb 3.0 so yeah it is useless

  • DBS

    And OIS in the camera.

  • Babak.amin

    It’s not that thick.

  • Omar

Looks nice, but I don’t know why would one need a reversible cable. I mean, it’s easy to identify which side is which, even in dark because you can feel the protruding latches which is supposed to be on the bottom side. Also, with some Sony cables, they are angled. It’s just impossible for me to get the direction wrong.

  • Battal Aljadei

    + usb type-c

  • 3rdflyleaf

They’re perfecting omnibalance design, which is about minimalism. I don’t care and won’t be surprised if they release another omnibalance design if it means no more flaps and bumps. It’s elegant and not toyish.

  • 3rdflyleaf

With today’s tech the Z5’s omnibalance design can’t get any more minimal than it is now. They already remove usb, headphone jack flaps, and remove power button bump.

Of course it charges faster, it’s a much smaller battery, 2550 mAh vs 3100 mAh.

  • costunga

I know that there are enough iPhone-like designs. But good elements can be copied in my opinion, you don’t have to compromise just to differenciate…

  • Samsung does’t do that with flagships well except lollipop update which was a failure from Google but 5.1 will fix everything

  • that’s bullshit Steadyshot + OIS would be killer but you refuse implementing it because steadyshot is good enough ?

  • Hexsense

Aye!, maybe Curved sensor with OSS lens?
Then using Google’s new camera API to bypass their processing software.

  • hcm.

Any image stabilization mechanism would only help if shutter speed go below 1/30 sec or so,

but since Xperia typically outperform other devices including iPhone when shooting night scenes due to its high ISO performance – there are really no need for Sony to implement OIS,

We’d be shooting a night scene with 1/60 sec and still end up with a brighter image, while others shoot at a slower shutter speed with OIS but still not being able to achieve the level of standard with Sony phones.

What Sony really needs to improve is the image processing algorithm, leave this task to the software devs behind its RX100 series camera and we have a winner.

  • Timel

it’s not Vizileaks, it’s Vizidripping..the champ thinks he has come up with a better leak strategy than Oneplus launch..just show the damn phone!

  • Alvin

But when it’s too thin it’ll not be comfortable.

here is the link, there are more pics

  • Abbas Mustafa Bhaiji

i think usb typ-c will make phone unnecesarily fat thats why they dont want to use it, yet
they can put it on the z5c but then that would be weird

  • valentino

The omnibalance not aim about symmetrical. It’s aiming the balance when you hold your device. Well it’s a little bit gimmicky. But there are a little feeling of balance when you typing so the phone doesn’t fall off. I think the omnibalance best feel at xperia z2 and xperia z.

  • valentino

It’s true. But ergonomics are not so. Hahah galaxy s6 more ergonomic than xperia z3. Looks classy and usable. But lack waterproof T-T. The z3+ look ergonomic but…. sd 810 make me down.
Well for me xperia z has the best looking in design.

  • valentino

Dude this guy only share his thought. No need to be that rude. Why everything that you like must not be complained and everyone must agree? If you like it good for you then. And if he doesn’t like it just reply him with good manner. No need that *fuck* things.

  • OchreFox

Looks like the modern motherboards are getting USB-C ports faster than smartphones.

  • valentino

Haha ya the z3+ display are great. But the front facing speakers and the processor aren’t that great. They haven’t learn from htc phone i guess. i like if they cover the usb charging port even the usb port itself already waterproof. Because when you need to charge that usb must be dry. And how do we know if its really dry? It seems the z3+ is quite rushy.

  • valentino

Toyish are design too. Hahahah. But yeah simple and clean that’s project z

  • valentino

No. It will affect battery. Hahahah useless bro. You sacrifice battery only for looks.

  • valentino

Ummm… i think sony updates has more bugs than samsung one. Because some of you guys in here demanding a real damn fast updates. Since then sony has bugs in the software when they updates.

  • Alvin

Well every manufacturers always have bugs from updating their devices, but yeah at some points sony has a lot of bugs than samsung, but even if samsung has less bugs than sony’s, their bugs are big problems, like battery drain bug at 5.1 where i didn’t experience any on my z3, and others.

  • valentino

But my galaxy s6 same like your z3. The battery is quite good. Maybe you don’t set your mom’s galaxy s6 same with yours. Auto brightness. Turn off sync. Gps. Location. Nfc. You know old people like to turn on everything they don’t know even though it’s not useful. My s6 last 1 day for heavy usage in mobile data connection. 2 days with wifi. Same with the xperia z3 i use in the past. The difference are that quick charge which i see a better choice. Z3 charging time too long 3 hours. When you don’t have any time to charge and low battery. Hahahha. Tapi ya itu bro music mu bagus sekali dibanding samsul.

  • valentino

Battery drain bugs exist in xperia z3. The first lollipop update bang. It drain battery faster than kit kat. Kit kat has most stable performance in sony xperia z3. And that’s how sony ruined their devices. They make the best phone only for the os they use from factory. Dan itulah saat dimana saya beralih ke s6.

  • Chaturanaga Manchanayake

    Plus better quality

  • kido

Ok whatever you do sony Please dont Forget full manual controls, and not only iso and exposure compensation but shutter speed as well and raw would be a bonus.

  • Benjamin Levy

Everyone is getting excited about Stagefright, but while it looks like Android might be vulnerable to Stagefright, if you can believe Google Stagefright can’t do anything once it does the buffer overflow on Android 4.1 and later because of its Address Space Layout Randomization (ASLR).

  • Benjamin Levy

Samsung is using multiple vendors for their S6 cameras. There’s no way to tell if you have an S6 phone with a Sony sensor until you take it out of the box.

“It turns out, however, that not every handset has the exact same camera: some phones use a Sony IMX240 imaging sensor while others are equipped with Samsung’s own ISOCELL sensor.”

  • Benjamin Levy

The good news is that there will be a Z5C, but at this rate, I’ll probably wait until the Z6C to replace my Z3C (I’m still happy with it).

  • Geese Howard

The design has this vintage feel to it IMO. Now only time will tell… still waiting for the inner specs…

  • Prateek Bhanushali

Even the Heat energy emitted by SD810 can be used to charge the battery. So its lyk How much the phone heats, the longer the battery lyff does…. Sony can make better use of 810 LOL

  • When you just said jakarta. I read your english in indonesian Dialect. Hahaha. Sorry, it’s just the sound seems so funny to me.

Off topic, I’ve been there before. It’s vary nice country with various culture etc.

Anyway, my z3c i think most stable in kit kat and Lollipop 5.0. Altough the 5.1.1 update brings more features, overheating, and battery drains bugs kills me more.

But, another thing i love most in this 5.1.1 uodate is the faster camera app and wayyyy faster than previous version to launch dialer, camera app from the lockscreen.

  • Riyal

Yeah let’s ask sony to make a triangular phone then :D I’m sure that would be new…

  • Alvin

Hey! When I’m typing with my indonesian dialect. I typed like that, but when my british dialect and accent comes out, you better watch out Lol

  • Alvin

Well i saw her turned off everything in her phone but i don’t know

  • Alvin

Umm…no…. I just felt the same after and before updated my z3 to 5.0 and 5.1. It just felt the same

  • Dion

Rude? LeL tells sony to fuck off and im rude, Im just referring to his very polite “thought”

  • Dion

Brainwashed? damn u think illuminati? Yeah we have freedom of speech but don’t talk nonsense you judging a phone that isn’t even out yet and as I said if you don’t like the design then go for an other phone easy as that the camera and battery is good enough for me I don’t know in your case.

  • Xperia Devices outperform iPhone in low light ? yeah right that’s why my Z3’s camera is terrible right ? and besides have you tried that front camera

  • rothx

Would be interested if Sony able to make flexible glass phone

  • kaostheory

At least you’d have a choice (unlike the edge) with a separate screen, and an e-ink display would save battery and be easier on the eyes when reading. It would affect size though.

  • HAWX

Z5 Compact is like “I am Rec tan gu lar”
Type C would have been nice but, it’s meh for me to not have that.

  • valentino

i don’t really like e-ink because you cannot see anything in dark places. hahah. well although the swr30 is good though. maybe sony should make the back part from e-ink so there are no more black or white color option. you set black or white yourself.

  • valentino

just reply him with kindness. hahahha. fight evil with good. bruh.

  • valentino

no the mdr-nc31em. gila itu must have banget. noise cancelling super. best headset ever. jadi mau balik ke z3 biar bisa pakai itu nih. haha lagi galau s6 sama z3.

  • valentino

from 4.4.4 kitkat to lollipop the battery drain exist. it’s much more fast depleting in lollipop 5.0.2. but the 5.1.1 z3 haven’t tried.

  • Chaturanaga Manchanayake

Yes I’m aware of that. But you know most of the phones are using Sony sensor. They used isocell sensor later onwards. And you can check it out with it’s exif data LL is Samsung, LS is Sony. But If you read sammobile side-by-side comparison you’ll see that Sony sensor does better and it’s just that it has typical bluish colour that we see in our phones.

  • The Z5 compact seems just on time to replace my Z1f, perfect !

  • Alvin

    Udah pake aja dua duanya

Why don’t you just use both of them and you’ll experience heaven that early

  • Alvin

You do understand that I said flex, i mean the phone bend, right? Lol

I’m not interested in that kind of thing unless they make it useful and beautiful, which I saw that s6 edge consumers wasted their money for almost nothing, because we can’t really do anything with it, it isn’t that useful

  • Deki

Maybe the Z5, not the compact :)

  • Kadek

Believe me, I get wrong direction more than it should even in the bright condition. I just grab the cable and plug it in without thinking. LOL. I break my Xperia Acro S port because of this habit. :(

  • valentino

yeah heaven early.. no money.. no food.. starving… XD
gak lah keknya fix bakal ke Xperia Z3. gak Tahan music playernya. hehehhe

  • Alvin

Hahaha iya lah that music is a heaven

  • Omar

hah, i have the habit of feeling the plug with my finger when i grab the connector. if i feel the protruding latches, that side should go to the buttom, and once you get the habit it really helps you to plug in the cable quickly.

  • Omar

Hah, i have the habit of feeling the plug with my finger when i grab the connector. If i feel the protruding latches, that side should go to the buttom, as you can see, if you hold the connector like this and feel them, you can plug it straight in with no problems. And once you get the habit it really helps you to plug in the cable quickly.

  • That sounds amazing… That will make it the Best Android camera…!!!
