Xperia C5 Ultra pre-sales sell out in Hong Kong

in Xperia C5 Ultra

Xperia C5 Ultra All ColoursLooks like Sony Mobile has a hit on its hands with the 6-inch Xperia C5 Ultra Dual as all pre-sales of the device have sold out in Hong Kong due to an “overwhelming response”. The handset is due to launch in the region for HK$ 3,298 (£273, €390, $425) on 14 August 2015. Obviously, we don’t know whether this ‘sell-out’ is down to low inventory or high demand (or perhaps a bit of both).

The Sony Xperia C5 Ultra has a 6-inch near borderless 1080p IPS display, 13MP front & rear cameras, MediaTek MT6752 chipset with 1.7GHz octa-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and a 2930mAh battery. The handset will be available in black, white and mint colours.

Xperia C5 Ultra Hong Kong sell out

Thanks Tony!

It’s them minimal bezels I tells ya!
All models in the Z-line should have this as well.

  • iia3ezu

It’s easy to ‘sell out’ if the initial launch deliberately has fewer devices as a marketing strategy to generate positive buzz.

Microsoft used to do that quite often with its Lumia handsets.
“OMG! Sold out! Windows phone is so popular!” LOL.

  • iia3ezu

Too bad, according to those leaks the Z5 will get those bezels.
Seems like slim bezels are a feature of the low end phone (C-series), the more premium ones (M-series and Z-series) will get those fat bezels.

Maybe bezels cost money, no bezels = more affordable?

  • Vjekoslav Andric

True, but samsung mastered that marketing trick, microsoft is just a baby against samsungs “cant satisfy the demand” marketing rant. ;-)

  • ryq24

    Copying Xiaomi?

  • Vjekoslav Andric

Probably…and why not? People are consumer sheep all over, why wouldnt Sony have a piece of that ignorant flavored cake :-D . They have to adapt their marketing strategies, we all expect them to adapt, cause sonys marketing is giving out bad results

  • Lio Soriano

i think the bezels are needed for waterproofing.

  • Timel

only 18 Facebook likes for the product and a sell-out? Weak co-relation, if at all

  • dragonsneeze

18 likes for a popular device seems a bit low but what do I know. (Bonus points for the rhyme please) Edit: Shit, I just shared the same opinion with TimTim.

  • H-R-K

If Sony offer this kind of product then they will be a major gainer in the market.

  • Timel

your rhyme is bogus so don’t whine for least that product got 18 likes, unlike you who will earn my dislike

  • H-R-K

If Sony offer mobile in reasonable price then U buy Sony or Xiaomi ?

  • Vjekoslav Andric

    So is your reasoning…
Z3c is there a whole year and its got only 48 likes…It too relates to its sales or?
    Facebook generation…duh!
World does not turn according to Facebook, mmmkey?

  • Timel

Relax Putin, I said, “weak correlation, IF AT ALL”.

  • Sola Hoi

Xiaomi, OnePlus and many other Chinese phone makers have been using this kind of promotion for years, but no one ever has any complaints!

  • dragonsneeze

Oh TimTim, unlike you I am not an attention whore, so I don’t need likes to feel good. Sometimes you agree with someone, sometimes you don’t. It is what it is, downvote all you want. Have a nice brain, bye.

  • nfs2010

Samsung claimed it couldn’t keep up with S6 edge demand and then announced a price cut on Edge few seconds later. Cheapsung is hilarious =)

  • jokensy

If only the Z5 had the same bezeless design…

  • Timel

I long for the day when people re-develop their sense of humor..

  • Svnjay

    Timel-kun is angry today.

  • Svnjay

Samsung and Apple fans use Facebook.

    Xperia fans use Google Plus.

  • Svnjay

    Selling out is copying Xiaomi?

  • Andreescu Daniel

it’s right, no waterproof phone has small bezels

  • Timel

hardly any doubt as the whole world uses FB and no one uses G+. I couldn’t have said it better myself..

Timel sorry man I have to disagree with you, when I bought my Z2 I didn’t go to Facebook page and like it, I simply bought there are people out there do the same.

  • Vuyo Ncube

So does Xiaomi, so does Meizu, so does Apple, so does everyone else. Ever heard of “hunger marketing”?

  • Alvin

If they’re not selling this and m5 all over the world, they’re taking a wrong step and two steps back

  • Alvin

  • Alvin

Lol what are you talking about, xiaomi is the one who copied xperia, so for oppo

  • Alvin

Hey remember they’re not cheap, they’re to expensive… THEIR DESIGNS ARE CHEAP

  • Vjekoslav Andric

I bet your facebook account is full of smartass comments also, you must be getting loads of likes Jong-un…

  • Jerry Berglund

I agree, This would be something they could sell even in Sweden. But no, they wont sell it in Scandinavia at all. I mean people are crazy about this selfies and phones with good selfie camera would almost sell itself. :-)

But Sony (Sony Ericsson) Has sometimes changed their minds when they do notice an interest for something.

  • Svnjay

    Senpai noticed me!

  • jxPerience

I’m considering to buy xperia c5 ultra if z5 disappoint me.. I like the compact mode feature, they should implement that to all xperia from 5.0 inch and up display
