in the EU all phones must be sold unlocked by law.

EDIT. no they don’t, it’s much more complicated.

  • Yasir Fawad

I think some carriers in UK provide them for free, u should request the carrier through an email, and they will send you without asking for credits. U may try this as well.

  • Tom Spaych

LOL, where you live? you can unlock it for free and to not void warranty only when your 2 year carrier agreement ends.

Or buy it unlocked carrier free.

  • Alvin

and I’m sitting here with my z3, waiting for your z5 to arrive on monday.

  • ChilliPSco

I’ve had to wait almost 2 years to upgrade my Z1. I know what you’re going through ;)

  • Tiago Cartaxo

i could really use on of those, my z2 is locked to vodafone :| good luck to everyone

  • Vladimir Travalja

Not quite, you can unlock it before, but you need to pay extra. Free unlocks are only when contract expires, or in case prepaid, you can unlock it instantly

  • Jarrod

In Australia you can’t get a locked phone on a contract or if you buy a contracted phone outright. Carrier have to supply unlocked. When buying a carrier branded pre paid phone then they are locked to the carrier.

  • Liam Burke

Great prize, would love an unlock code for my new Z5 compact
