What’s New 3.3.A.1.3_3Sony Mobile has added a new option in the latest build (3.3.A.1.3) of the What’s New application, which allows users to hide apps that they do not wish to install or update. One such example of this is the Amazon app that we’ve covered before, which Sony was pushing through the What’s New app. Now once you click on the update, you are given an option to hide the app. If you change your mind, you can always “Clear hidden” in the settings menu. The latest update is rolling out right now.

  • Alain Leed

je l’ai bien eu avec cette dernière version :) c’est comme au début de what’s app, parfait

The most stupid thing is how “What’s New” behaves when you already have the Amazon app installed, like me (through the Play Store).

What’s New still offers the Amazon app as an update. And just out of curiositiy, I tried to install it again through What’s New, but that simply gave an error message (“could not install” or something). And afterwards, the update is still listed, as if nothing happened.

I wonder if anyone actually tested this at Sony before release…

Well, at least they now offer the option to hide unwanted apps manually.

Edit: Ok, guess what, looks like they actually did test it this time. ;)
After the update to “What’s New”, the Amazon app automatically disappeared for me. Apparently, What’s New realized that I already have it installed anyway…

  • Sadman Khan

    THAT changelog

One thing I did notice is “CONCEPT SOFTWARE” plastered on the lower right corner of the boot animation. There’s also a disclaimer now

  • Bashar Shehab

An update for Sony’s marshmallow concept is just here! These screenshots for the new Xperia Home version, and full Changelog

Also; a small ” Concept Software ” title is written at the bottom right of the bootanimation ( sorry I couldn’t screenshot this)

Xperia Z3+ dual updated from .256 build to .266 build. Dunno the changelog. But the stagefright problem fixed. Software stability and battery still same I think. Could be worse.

    Hopefully :)

About time so I could hide that damn Amazon app ad that was raping the update section.

What’s New app UI looks very gorgeous and cassy and it deserves the sexy Xperia hardware design
the whole backgroup of Xperia UI should be blur transparent effect like this.

Can I remove “What’s New” from my phone? This and the other Sony bloatware/spyware/crapware is why I will probably never buy another Sony phone.

  • Motaz Alnuweiri

I don’t get any updates for What’s New ? .. My phone is Sony M2 (Lolipop 5.1.1) Unlocked Bootloader
