Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow released for Sony Concept_2Sony Mobile has released the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update for the Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact handsets running the Concept for Android beta trial. Build number MMB29M.Z1.3021-somc moves the Android version to MR1 (Maintenance Release 1). The only change we are aware of (apart from the update to Android 6.0.1) is that Sony has now removed the Icon pack found within the Home settings. The “Icon appearance” is still there, but Sony has removed the three options that it included previously. This latest update should be rolling to all Sony Concept for Android Marshmallow owners via OTA right now.

If anybody here having bootlooping issue after installing the new 3021 build

    from Sony Concept G+

Do you know how to take a USB log? If so did you happen to enable USB-debugging previously? If so we would love it if you could take a log and email it to concept01@sonymobile.com
As you might realize we’re a bit stumped on this problem until we can learn a bit more.

Things you could try is to leave it for a bit and see if it “heals” itself after a few more reboots. It may help to have USB plugged in to your PC while doing this.

You can also try to use the recovery menu to try and repair the software. You can access it by holding volume up (with phone off) and insert the USB cable.
Scroll in the menu with volume down (two times) and then select Recovery mode with power button.
Try wiping cache partition and try to reboot the phone.

If you can do without this phone for a bit we might be interested in swapping your phone with another one, so we can do a deeper analysis of this problem.

If you can’t do without the phone the thing that will work is to use the concept installer program to flash back to the official Lollipop and then back again.?

no, you should have bought a nexus.

  • Sadman Khan

That means we might even get 6.0.2. Although that might be hoping for too much.

  • AudioAw

Be careful with the update, got stuck at boot screen.

  • Sadman Khan

There’s a comment about this issue, below

    pffft

  • Svnjay

And get crap battery life and camera.

  • Just had the upgrade for my Z3C. No boot loop issues, Programs menu has a nice up slide animation. Top down slide menu is faster than the previous build. Actually everything seems faster now. Icon appearance menu is there, but nothing inside of it. So far so good.

B*s I have the Nexus 5X a d Sony Xperia Z3+. The battery life in the Nexus 5X is horrible plus the audio quality is unbearable.

  • Charlles Costa

The camera in the Nexus 5X with is OK but rest in the is pretty bad.

  • rmartinezdl

We know it, dont get mad over trolls, I have a z3 compact with sony concept and a z3 tablet compact, pretty much my entire family has sony devices, from ranging from the xperia e4, m4 aqua, z1 compact, z1, z2, z3 and me and my brother having z3 compacts, sony is really the best, their updates might not be day one but they deliver, and the battery life with stamina is great, ist just a better phone overall.

  • rmartinezdl

They may have disabled downloading the update then, I am trying to update but it says it timed out while downloading. Its a beta anyways.

  • rmartinezdl

    What theres 6.0.2 already? UWOTGOOGLE

  • The batery life is terrible in this update.

  • Doesn’t look like there is 6.0.2 at this time!

  • Sadman Khan

Yeah, a mistake from my part

  • Sadman Khan

    Nope! Sorry :’)

  • Eisen Popó Abanís

Will be nice to have the fm radio app in my Xperia z3 with the Concept.

  • Žilberts G?enga

This worked for me: recovery menu -> Power + click Vol-down -> Clear cache partition -> Factory reset

Clearing cache didn’t help in my case.

  • Haldi

Still 3.4 Kernel? What about 3.10?

  • Olaf Duits

Just flashed it with MM Concept and it works GREAT! Fast and smooth.Sony is doing a great job!!!

  • Rasmus Holm

Regarding the bootloop, if you can’t wipe with recovery mode (no command error), just connect via fastboot and run command “fastboot erase userdata” this will wipe your phone, but it will start up Again :-)

I don’t get why they aren’t including the FM Radio. It’s a modest and small app to access a physical feature that all Xperia phones have: FM receiver.

  • Niels d. G.

Actually I think Sony should just give us a function in PCC to let us easily uninstall/install any of the Sony-specific features and services. Much like the tool in Windows that allows us to remove or add Windows components and features.

  • +1 I go cycling to my job and I used to listen the radio. Now I can’t. I hope it’s temporary.

  • Andrius Mikalauskas

I hope sony will fix the headphones issue with marshmallow, it’s so annying that sme headphones just dont work, well they do work but only when sound about is forcing apps to translate to headphones, i suppose something gone wrong with smart connect on lolipop…
