Someone is trying to sell the upcoming Sony Xperia F833X flagship – plus new pics

by XB on 25th July 2016

in Rumours, Xperia X series

Sony Xperia F833X_1Recently, we caught the first pictures of the upcoming Sony Xperia flagship with model number F833X (F8331 and F8332). We have now landed on a couple of additional pictures of the same device from a listing on Njuškalo. For those that don’t know, Njuškalo is the largest classified ads website in Croatia.

The seller is listing the phone as a ‘new model of the Xperia X Performance’ and has posted several specifications including a 5.1-inch display, 23MP rear camera, 12 MP camera and 3GB RAM. He also says that it is made from a non-slippery metal housing. We’re not so sure that all of the specs are correct, for example we expect the handset to sport a 5.2-inch display and a 13MP front-facing camera. It will be interesting to see how far this user gets in trying to flog an unreleased handset. We don’t think it will be too long before Sony’s lawyers come knocking on the door.

Thanks Ben and KF!

  • ramuk

Looks beautiful and compact. Hope it has much bigger battery than XP’s.

  • LiterofCola

    Looks hideous

  • Knock knock, Damn……Sony’s Lawyers

  • bun_ji

So they are still keepin’ the 3gb Ram. Huh?

  • Vuyo Ncube

    Bring the phablet version please!

  • Andreas Prima

the 3gb they mentioned is the xperia x performance not this new model. since it is still unclear yet.

  • Vjekoslav Andric

Damn, on second sight, it actually looks magnificent to me…

  • EQ
  • XperiaJunkie85

    What an absolute tool!!

  • ramuk

How are you doing microbitch’s ( aka Mirosoft’s) fanboy ? Why did you change your former name “logitek lover” to “LiterofCola”.

  • ramuk

Just to inform you, this guy is mirosoft’s fanboy and he is trolling Sony article all over the internet. His former username is Logiteklover. Flag this troll’s comment as soon as you see his comment.

  • DBS

The references on the listing to the G3 and G4 and S6 make me wonder if this isn’t an older prototype of the X Performance instead.
Otherwise why would the seller say he preferred older phones like the G4 and S6?
(even though the cameras on those two beat the sh*t out of any Xperia phone)

  • ryq24

    Scam artist are everywhere.

  • NICLAS

Hahaha smart dude. The cost for him is 400 times more than he own if he sells this:-P

  • Ailan Hidaz

I hope this device comes out soon, rather than be announced in September and launch in 2017

  • KarFar

look how the screen protector leaving space on top and bottom, maybe fingerprint is embedded to the glass? but then again there would be no reason to not make it edge to edge.

  • Ikr for fucks sake Sony release a high end phone with 4Gb ran already.

  • Deads

If this is a new phone or a prototype of the X Perf. The G4 and S6 are still older phones.

  • Deads

Microsoft? Are they still making phones?
Just Kidding, although it really does look like they stopped giving 2 shits about Windows Phone.

  • EQ
  • Raj Singh

They don’t have the balls to play outside the box. Sony Mobile doesn’t know how to take a leadership role — just like the “AR Effects” on Xperia. They’ve had it for years and years with no idea how to capitalize on it — Niantic comes in with Pokemon and creates a worldwide phenomenon in weeks.

  • DBS

Not at all. If it’s a prototype, it can be as old as the S6/G4. Phones take an average 18 months to be developed from scratch to release. In the meantime, prototypes are made.
In either case, for him to be selling it because he wants an older device, either he really cares about having a great camera on the phone or it makes little sense to me.

  • Raj Singh

Sony is stupid for allowing Sony Mobile to keep making decisions like releasing different versions of the SAME phone in different markets with different names. Sony is also stupid for letting Sony Mobile put out the Z5 with SD810. Sony is also stupid for letting Sony Mobile put out ANY flagship in 2016 2017 with 3GB RAM. Sony is stupid for not firing Sony Mobile’s marketing department.

  • Lyrahaze

I just contact a guy, he said that he can sell me the phone only if I come and buy it personally. Also he said that he buy it from a guy in Asia..

  • Lyrahaze

Agree, same with first touchscreen, and lately with short trow touch projectors..

  • Raj Singh

Their short throw projectors are very cool but other companies will be more successful at selling and promoting that technology because Sony doesn’t know how to.

Here’s another example of short throw touch technology Sony will screw up…

    https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/90b4ed213d05e70a1f288c69ee82c432cd45c36e91f6f5dd3c6975b703e90429.jpg

  • Battel

They barely just added 2nd flash to their flagship, 4GB ram would be next year or after,
meet the turtle (“Sony mobiles”) .

  • Lyrahaze

I think that Sony don’t want to invest any money in developers, they just want profit..

  • Kwstakhs

Cause you’re using all these TINY 3GB and you want 4GB now, when other flagships (see S7) use 4GB of RAM SO DAMN HORRIBLE that SONY’S 3GB of RAM open MORE applications than SAMSUNG’S 4GB of RAM. Bored of people misinformating everyone about everything.
    Thanks.

  • Stanly

doesn’t seems like a xperia phone screen protector lol especially the bottom part.

  • Stanly

maybe that’s all he drink all day

  • Ailan Hidaz

Fingerprint button is on the side dude, just like all phones following the Z5 series

  • Matt

that is some disgusting screen protector you got there

  • raju

How it possible to out, upcoming phone ,Sony not release official?

  • jamie evans

So… This is real or fake?

  • Abdusselam ?ahin

    still on-screen??? :(

  • Alvin

Your last sentence is priceles, XB.

Okay I’m being honest here, that phone looks amazing, but I don’t think it has amazing enough specs to blow me away. But I’ll hold my judgement until it’s announced, since this leaker could be wrong or faking its specs.

  • Alvin

He put samsung screen protector there, lol

  • Alvin

Looking at how thich it is, i think it will sport a bigger battery than its predecessors

  • webuser.my

Yep, because they’re still keeping the 1080p screen as at 5″, it’s sufficient, and as such, 3GB RAM is plenty to render those pixels.

4GB RAM are mainly used for the other phones which are pushing higher res as they take a massive performance hit, especially in gaming.

  • webuser.my

So that you can play candy crush that much better?

  • webuser.my

Precisely this. Kwstakhs gets it. It’s all about utilization and what you want out of your devices.

  • EQ

    Let’s pray for it son.

  • EQ

    I think it’s upside down.

  • EQ

I’ll bet half the phone will be small rice bags taped to the internals to make some weight.

  • EQ
  • EQ
  • EQ

I would still like to have more RAM though. A nice 1-1,5GB for the ZRAM swap would allow to cache a ton of apps in RAM for instant switching between them all.

  • EQ
  • Bezels for the win !

screen protector is only improvised here (due to original not being available yet ) because you can’t just cover all the sensors on the front or the call functions , mic and front camera will not work properly …

  • mountain

    5.1 inch display sounds correct.
So far, only Z2 has 5.2 inch display. models after Z3 has 5.1 inch instead.

  • Dreamer
  • jumbo3220

is there something above the dual flashes? like a laser auto focus system or something..why they left room in that dual led border

  • Svnjay

Or at least lower the darn price.

  • betatesterz

Could be a laser focusing module. Could be a heart rate sensor Could also be nothing as it is a prototype. Gotta wait until the official release on more solid information.

  • bun_ji

I’m actually using my Xperia T (James Bond Edition).
Well you seem a bit overloaded with rage. Why don’t we sit down and have chai with Iroh?

  • bun_ji

There you go. Exactly what I thought.

  • Victor

3gb of ram LOL! My Z2 got that over 2 Years ago! That’s not a flsgship 2016.

  • Ailan Hidaz

Looks like a laser auto-focusing module, but then again it’s too early to tell.
Also, the dual leds kinda look different toned, but who knows at this point.
Let’s just hope this thing gets announced and launches sooner rather than later and actually comes with Flagship specs for the prices they have been charging recently.

  • Kwstakhs

Please allow me to say ‘Lol’, for real.
    1) These ‘speed tests’ say nothing at all, as the devices run different processes and have different apps installed
    2) This guy is a Sony hater…when i saw videos from z5 compact he uses a faulty device just to ‘prove’ it sucks and lags to hell, while at the same time my friend’s one runs pretty well( and better than the video’s one of course.
    3) I’d recommend to stop watching videos like these,as even benchmarks are more trustworthy than them.
    Thanks.

  • Kwstakhs

I’m cool dude,if you are too then even better. Was just bored of having read so many comments about these 4GB or RAM that I thought I had to take action somehow. Cheers!

  • hmmm

bad idea with the curved screen, you can break it easily!also I’ll miss z5 bumper corners!

  • Ailan Hidaz

hasn’t stopped samsung fans from buying the Edge series, nor has it stopped anyone buying any of the phones with curved glass displays.

Also that’s not a curved screen, just the glass that appears to be curved (2.5D?).

  • Bashar Shehab

    Nope. Z1 to Z5 have 5.2″

  • Flythe

I cannot completely agree with that. Yes, I think 1080p on 5” are plenty, but only having not technological capabilities but the limitations of the human body in mind. I’m sure Sony could’ve fitted a 4K display inside the X even though there’d be no benefits from it. But that’s not the point, while I have no problems with the 3GB of RAM on my Xperia X, it does indeed perform worse than the likes of LG and HTC and now even Samsung running that one GB more. 3GB are sufficient to run the OS and drive the display, but you’ll see a difference in multitasking compared with others. And I think it hurts to see Sony falling back in areas they used to be superior in. Therefore, 3GB of RAM might be sufficient, but it’s clearly not enough.

  • hmmm

Curved glass, more chance to break it!I’ll buy ut,but that is a stupid thing…I want a sony phone, and a sony design, not another craphone and samsung design!

  • Bashar Shehab

I saw on another website that it stillhas 2700mAh, not sure tho.

  • Judy Zik

Oh look its another 5 inch screened phone with slightly better specs. Meanwhile the Original Ultra is still on sale with 3 year old specs. for f$&@ sakes Sony. Give us a large screen flagship again that is water proof.

  • EQ

    Z1 is 5″.

  • Emil Oskarsson

Thats the turht, in a Sony phone you dont really need 4 GB of ram, because of the awesome hardware, but why not include 4 GB of ram anyway and show Samsung how to really optimize a phone? Anyhow im totally happy with my Xperia X Performance and everyday usage on this device is much better then it will eve rbe on a Samsung device, and thats a FACT :D

  • Emil Oskarsson

4K screen on a 5 inch device? Let me just laugh at your stupid arguments for a while XD Even 2K is a gimmick, well not if you are going to use the phone in a VR headset BUT how many people will do that? Z5 with s810 was a better choice then putting in the shitty s808 :p And 3 GB of ram in the X performance delievers the same experience as 4 GB of ram on the Galaxy s7 for example :)

  • Chaturanaga Manchanayake

Isn’t that what’s going to happen? We all know that. I am eagerly waiting for a new phone but Sony is really screwing stuff up. Specially reducing the battery capacity.

  • Bashar Shehab

    Sorry, my fault

  • Matt

does it make it better? , dont think so

  • Matt

    haha, its an observation mate.

  • azzido

What is the reason to create same specs phone and then call it a new flagship since is is the same as old one, nothing new??? 0,1 inch Sony? Really??? + same horrible canera as in X Poorformance = no thank you.

    Previously it was THAT BEZELS.
Now it is THAT 3GB OF RAM.

  • azzido

The only difference ia design is back to be better than crappy X poorf, but still no frosted glass on the back… Skipping this one as well.

  • Ailan Hidaz

Z5 Premium is the closest relative of the Z ultra that we are going to get at the moment.

  • fried_egg

Ahh, the old “Apple” method of getting some prelaunch hype going…

  • azzido

    who is this grandpa?

  • azzido

I think this controlled leak is a way for Sony to see what will be customer’s reaction to their new idea of design at least before offering it in stores not to repeat Z3+ or X series flops… (Z3+ has great design but overheating put all the sales into shame, X mid-rangers are all just below expectations, too late, horrible design, bad camera and overpriced)

  • EQ
  • Battel

You’v made some $$ from his leaks and now you want Sony’s Lawyers to sue him !?

  • David Hvatov

    Z2 is still the best.

  • KarFar

whether you like it or not, another 3gb ‘flagship’ in 2016 will be a fail.. the Android industry is going this way (more ram, more ppi) and sony must follow this trend to survive. I know “3gb is more than enough” and “the human eye can’t see more than 400ppi” etcc… they remind me of windows phone fanboys in 2011 when “single core, 512mb ram and 480*800 res are more than enough” when everything went multi core, 1gb+ ram and HD screens.

  • Raj Singh

Your comment shows how naive you are. I like a 1080 display on phones. I don’t need 2K or 4K. I’m also content with 3GB of RAM. Reality dictates that you need a 4K display and 4GB of RAM to be at the forefront of the pack, not in the middle of it.

  • ViVek SinGh

sony please provide a separate slot for these innocent people who want more ram , so that they can increase the ram as much as they want….or else they would die of lack of ram….:P

  • ramuk

It would be another stupid decision if this is true. Please provide the link. Thanks in advance.

  • KarFar

we won’t die of lack of ram, but sony would :)

  • KarFar

Rumors say Galaxy S8 will have 4K display, Sony must have a Z5 Premium successor in the horizon with not just 4K but also 120Hz refresh rate and 1.07b colors that would be truly awesome and put Samsuck in their place.

  • Raj Singh

I heard that as well… Project Dream is said to have a 4K display for VR. Sony should have been the lead on this.

Sony Mobile will not be able to compete with Gear VR — they can make better hardware but their business acumen sucks.

  • QBerto

GS7 have the best ram managment that I’ve ever seen on a phone, a LOT better than XXP, with same usage (mine), that guy may be a sony hater but u’re just a sony fanboy that can’t accept sony is not in their best moment, and that comes from someone that used sony phones since SEW300 days until XXP just take over my patience with that price and so mediocre performance

  • Wow now you can get WhatsApp for PC Windows 7

  • Matt

err, if you think ram reder pixels . . idk waht to say. the screen takes photos ?

  • Matt

this makes me smile a bit

  • azzido

I hope Sony is finally to present the cutved lens they’ve been working on since years now? Can Xperia blog check with Sony what is the status of this technology?

  • Kwstakhs

I’m a Sony fan,not a Sony fanboy. Either ways, it ‘s off -topic,why would you mention something that has to do with me? To defend Sammy? Are you maybe a Samsung fanboy?
    Just kidding…

As for the moment that Sony passes by at the moment…she’s doing good, not great and it’s a pity…as all this comes as a sudden of their unskilled promo managers…they need to be hired or change position @ the company or change job,but my job is not to tell them what their job is, it’s just my opinion.

  • Phil Gym

    looks better right?

  • Bashar Shehab

Oh sorry, I just checked it again, it says that about another device, not this one.

Btw, do you remember the ‘Y’ design concept that got leaked the last year? There is some rumors that Sony will launch a device with that design, alongside with a compact version of it, and the 2700mAh battery that I saw earlier was for the Compact version.

  • jamie evans

agreed. Sony should take this design. I would love to get it

    http://www.static.xperiablog.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Xperia-plate_2-640×436.png

  • Zratul

And which CPU do you suggest for the Z5? Unfortunately Qualcomm mess with the SD810 really affected Qualcomm dependant OEMs like Sony.

    – Last-gen Exynos were Samsung exclusives.
    – Nvidia Tegra is out of the game for Smartphones form factor
    – Last year Kirin and Mediatek SoCs had weak GPUs
    – Intel was almost dead too with only Asus using their SoCs and again GPU was pretty weak

The only choice would have been a Snapdragon 808 with again a sacrifice in GPU power and even worse, 808 DSP cannot handle Camera sensors with more than 20MPx (Z5 has 23MPx)

Technically the SD810 was the only choice for Sony. Remember that the only main OEM

building Premium phones which was able to avoid SD810 failure was Samsung, just because they could produce their own Exynos.

Sony Mobile is bad on a lot of points but the reasons you gave concerning the SD810 are just not relevant.

  • ramuk

Yeah, I remember the Y concept. It’s the most beautiful one the leaked concept. I don’t think they will release Y concept this year. Mono concept tuned out to be Z5 series. Looks like Tube concept will be this years flagship design. I think next year we will see the Y concept phone. I think Y will be the pinnacle of Sony mobile design language. Let’s just hope for a bigger battery for Tube series now.

  • Timel

You are 100% wrong , Tech Trincket is a Sony fan actually
I think you should stop defending Sony and accept the fact

Sony’ s software is not the best anymore and Samsung wins this time, Touchwiz now is very fast and smooth, it’s even faster than stock android

  • Joandcotton1

    <<o. ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????:::::::!!br337p:….,…

  • Timel

I love Sony but their mobile division is fucking horrible

  • xperiaP

I am very disappointed with Sony. I’ve owned the Xperia P,T, Z, Z2, Z3, Z5 Compact and the Z5 and the most recent phones have left me with an underwhelming feeling about the 2 day battery life which is impossible to achieve on the z5, no wireless charging on the z5 and the z2 and z3 does very little less than what the z5 does. The camera is ok but 23mp is just a very small upgrade, again nothing that really pushes the design out and says “BUY ME!”
But yet Sony still think they are selling a good phone when they release the X series? There are no stand out features that make me want to upgrade and the battery life is just shocking in this day and age. in 2016 we should have a FULL 2 day battery (ok so the Z5c ticks that box but only because of its small 720p screen) 4gb ram on a flagship and at least ONE NEW feature that makes it stand out. There is nothing the X series strikes me as new and wanting me to trade up from my Z5. Phones are getting thinner and battery specs in Sonys phones are going lame. And now this new phone is looking like it is heading EXACTLY the same way. My next phone will not be a Sony. I might have a Sony Smart TV, but for me now the mobile series is offering nothing new. At least with their TVs you can feel more has been done when a new model appears. Sony is downsizing internationally because they have been a flop. A name alone no longer sells product, INNOVATION and WOW factor does! *Rant over, tin hat enabled*

  • Bashar Shehab

Yes, let’s just hope the best for Sony, I don’t wanna change the brand.

  • Kwstakhs

You make me laugh man.I never said that 3GB of RAM runs faster than 4GB of ram do. YOU said that. What I said was that both 3GB and 4GB of ram can keep the same number of apps running at the same time and that’s because Samsung ‘s UI is freaking heavy.
As for the samsung touchwiz UI, it still SUCKS. My friend’s S7 edge is hardly 1.5 seconds faster than my Z3 compact( with 2GB of Ram).
If Tech Trinket was a Sony fan he wouldn’t use faculty Z5 compacts on his reviews. Don’t talk to me like I was born yesterday, you can’t fool me that easy.

P.S. Go get yourself a Sony mobile phone, try to calm down a little bit.

  • marcyff2

thumbs up for that Avatar reference

  • SonyMan

To be honest my dear hater, touchwiz needs a lot more work to compete with Xperia UI. When you have 3gb of ram and a supposedly “problematic” chipset the 810 and you compete with the latest and finest 820 with 4gb of ram and you still manage identical performance, it usually means better home and ui optimizations. RIP TOUCHWIZ!! https://youtu.be/XV0rL0EQz30

  • Bezels for the win !

GPU does and uses/shares DRAM since it doesn’t have it’s own dedicated vRAM. higher the resolution more RAM is going to be consumed by the device .

you can think of it like of integrated graphics in PCs ..hope you know what I mean …

Another most boring phone of the year from Sony.

Its official, Sony is losing the mobile phone game as well.

  • Bezels for the win !

on QHD + 4GB device you basically have the same or even less amount of RAM at your disposal that you would get on device which is FHD+3GB …but that doesn’t justify in any way for SONY to put less memory in their devices that have same or higher price then ones from competitors such as HTC, LG , SAMSUNG etc … It only doesn’t bother me much because I know that I’m getting same amount in the end with better performance with FHD which still puts much less strain on GPU in terms of processing power regardless of memory .

  • ^^roflmao

  • Matt

that is a good observation. but in not sure that the strain of QHD is that extreme. either ways , higher price is the staple of sony products since the dawn of time , so however the spec may be their price will always higher.

i personally already get used to their pricing .

  • Bezels for the win !

of course it is , and benchmarks confirms that , even Z5 using adreno 430 is managing better graphic performance(at least higher frame rate) than S7 .

yeah the price… we already discussed that in previous articles and come to same conclusion and I don’t care much also , but I want a latest hardware and gimmicks free , for now SONY is still providing it …

P.S. I changed my user name from DarkMaster :D

  • Kim Julian

Looks like Xiaomi!!! this is not new design but ugliest one !!

  • Raj Singh

No. Sony Mobile knew the 810 was problematic. They should have waited for the 820. Instead, they deliberately went ahead despite its shortcomings.

  • Bashar Shehab

Ok now stop the memes it’s getting boring

  • EQ
  • Matt

=,= that is why you comments feels familiar .

well sony is a premium device manufacturer.

  • Bezels for the win !

hehe … take a look at this , S7 rendering native resolution : http://prnt.sc/bykssn notice that Z5 is better ?

then again what it could achive in 1080p : http://prnt.sc/byktqg

and here two different benchmarks where X Performance wins both by huge margin , double the frame rates of S7 !

    http://prnt.sc/bym1mf
    http://prnt.sc/bym3d3

and also sharpness of RGB LCD panel and PenTile AMOLED display is not the same or should I say it’s effective resolution… , on same resolutions and screen size LCD would be much sharper …

!! I COULD BE WRONG !! , but probably LCD is 50% more sharper than AMOLED . not entirely sure because I just started to look into this subject and didn’t know about it before….

  • Zratul

They messed up the integration with the Z3+ which was a total failure.
So they should have postponed the Z5 until Spring 2016?

I’m sorry but that’s not how it works. With a very bad Z3+ plagued by problems, Sony didn’t have any flagship for 2015.
For people like me who renewed their phones last year, I would not have taken a Z3 (was already one year old) nor a Z3+ (heating problems), without the Z5 I would have gone maybe with Nexus 5X.

But I really wanted an Xperia phone for the Waterproofing, SD Card support, a physical shutter button and a more premium build.

Z5 is much much better compared to Z3+ integration of SD810, it still has its problems for sustained usage (typically games) like all SD810 powered smartphones but otherwise it’s snappy. Compared to Z3 it also bumped the memory from 16GB to 32 (useful for apps), finally a capless USB.

Sony had the choice to either let the Z3+ (which is very bad) as their only flagship for almost one year and be totally absent from the market or still go with a better integrated SD810 like in the Z5.

If OEMs were to listen to you, the only Android flagship of 2015 which should have been released are the Galaxy S6/S6 Edge and Note 5 which were all Exynos powered.

Remember all the other OEMs: HTC, LG, OnePlus, Google Nexuses all went SD810. Not by choice, just because it was the only one and because you need to release at least a product per year if you don’t want to lose marketshare.

  • Ritwick Priyadarshi

    The phone looks too good.

My dream specs for this phone are: (I am sure sony can deliver this at the moment)

    4GB RAM
    5 inch 2K Display
    3500mah Battery
Full Camera Manual Controls ( 30s shutter )

Sony if you deliver these which you can, I will literally write you a blank cheque

  • Matt

ok, my opinion is the native resolution looked by the software is the same , on amoled and LCD. its just LCD is more constant in colour overtime, the screen does not get yellow (blue pixel degradation)

samsung uses such a high PPI to negate the effect of diamond shaped pixel that usually degrade perceived sharpness of the display itself . whereas LCD touting panel dont have to. but yes s7 or any other amoled screened phone with QHD display is sharper than our xperia with 1080p. the difference is not apparent unless you compare them side my side.

  • Bezels for the win !

my point is even if Samsung for example used 1080p for their S7 edge on 5.5 inches , probably wouldn’t be adequate for a flagship(and I didn’t know this calling QHD a gimmick) , while it’s different story with xperia where Sony can still use 1080p and achieve quite good sharpness , not good as QHD but still more than enough while not sacrificing performance .

I don’t mind the new style. I mind that the top and bottom bezels look like they got bigger yet again. What the hell? Sony of the 1990’s was most known for tiny electronics with top specs. Now Sony makes oversized phones with mid-range specs.
On GSM Arena look at the screen to body ratios and how it just gets smaller and smaller because of top and bottom bezels. I keep repeating this but the Xperia ZL was a 75.6% screen to body ratio. 5″ 1080p screen in a ZCompact body size. Z5 and X have below 70% ratio. in two years Sony will have a 50% ratio where half the phone face is bezel. Seriously what is Sony thinking? The Galaxy S7 and Edge is a 72% and 76% ratio.
Sony I don’t want you to copy any other company. Keep the same design but reduce the top and bottom bezels by 50%. Make it 4GB of RAM. And get rid of the hybrid sim tray and bring back 2 SIMs and SD card at the same time. I like everything else. I take better photos with my RX100 Sony camera anyway, and I don’t care if my processor is .02% faster. Just 3 (bezels, RAM, dual sim&SD) things and I would be totally satisfied.
Seriously when you can’t use a Z5 or X Performance with one hand with a smaller 5″ screen, you have design problems.

See… I got both an Xperia Z3+ (Z4 essencially) and a Galaxy Note5. As much as I like the Sammy device, there is no way I can praise their TouchWiz interface. It’s cumbersome and was made by someone with terrible sense of design. If the Note5 had Sony’s Xperia UI it would be the perfect device (but still missing Sony’s awesome stereo sound).

If they can price it under $350 with 4GB of RAM and a 1080p screen in 2017, it will probably do somewhat well. However, I’d like to see their September flagship phones come with even brighter panels than the XZ with even more color gamut/accuracy and deeper black levels. The September 2017 flagship needs to come with atleast 6GB of RAM because that’s where everyone else will go, they should include an AMOLED display, and atleast a 3200mAh battery with a Snapdragon 830. That will really bring Sony further than where its old flagship kings, the Z2 and Z3 were.
