in Xperia XZ series

sony-xperia-xz-deep-pink_wmSony Mobile has announced the Xperia XZ in three colours (Forest Blue, Mineral Black and Platinum), but it looks like a fourth will be on the way. Sony included references to a “Deep Pink” variant in the handset’s white paper, along with a foot note saying that it would only launch in selected territories (no timeline was given).

Well now we have received a first glimpse of what appears to the Deep Pink Xperia XZ casing in the picture below. Often, Sony announces new pink variants for its flagship devices in time for Valentines/Chinese New Year, and it may not be any different this time around. We’ll let you know if it appears any sooner.

Is this a first glimpse of the ‘Deep Pink’ Xperia XZ?

Sony’s Xperia XZ white paper highlights the “Deep Pink” variant, but says it will only be available in select markets

Thanks Heung!

See how much respect Sony shows to its mobile segment. They connect their professional equipment with devices like iPhone & Motorola…

Off topic: The X (so called) Performance is sold in Korea? I though they stopped selling phones there…

    So Sad :(

Is the frame plastic on XZ?

  • Alvin

That’s what reviewers said. I’m a bit disappointed actually..

  • Alvin

That colour still looks great to me even though i hate pink.

  • dragonsneeze

Yeah, some said it was all metal except for the antenna line on the back. I’m confused, if the frame is plastic then why there’s an antenna line? They didn’t need that on the previous X series.

  • Matt

1 you dont touch the frame
2 you dont see the frame
3 do you know what happen if oyu bend aluminium compared to plastic ?

  • razor7s

Don’t be fooled by China manufacturers

  • Bezels for the win !

completely aluminium frame is horrible idea , it bents . Frame like on Z5 is excellent (plastic on inside but aluminium on the outside…) .

  • dragonsneeze

I meant the outer frame not the whole chassis. I didn’t say it was bad or anything, it’s just that if it is wholly plastic the antenna part was a weird design choice. Gsmarena also says it’s a policarbonate frame so if true you see and touch that unless you are telekinetic and blind.

hey Timel wherever you are hiding right now here is how to …

  • Iki

    Because more people use iphones…

  • Matt

ah no the outer frame is metal. but the skeletal structure inside is plastic to hold all electronic components, which is normal .

polycarbonate on the bottom and top side.

  • dragonsneeze

Thanks, that’s what I thought until I saw the Gsmarena article. Does Sony confirm this on anywhere?

Timel: Please wear an “Explosives” yellow exclamation badge on your head whenever you are carrying your Grenade 7 so you wont endanger innocent people. Also when you charge it please notify the people around you with the phrase “Fire in the hole take cover!” so they can prepare themselves to avoid injury and loss of limbs and life.
