It is too early to say what has changed, but it is likely that Sony has taken the opportunity to further quash some Nougat bugs. If you have updated, please let us know any differences that you have noticed in the comments below. We will also shortly include some FTF firmware links.

  • Damodar Reddy

Dear Sony, what is change all about new firmware?, Can you please let me know. Thank you.

  • Little Man

I’m thinking of purchasing the Z4 Tablet as a replacement of my Z3 (yes I’d like it to replace my phone entirely) and as a note taking machine in class. Thoughts and helpful insights, anyone?

  • Paul L

I’m interested to know whether this minor update has fixed the seemingly endless bugs people are reporting. I’m thinking of skipping Nougat given the volume of complaints / bugs people on here are experiencing.

  • supercow

is Z3+ dual (E6533) concerned by the nougat upgrade because no update on my phone for the moment…

  • Pramod Dhanushka

    Sony You Ruined Z5 line

  • Musharab

Bhai …..G**nd Maar li Nougat ne Z5 Line ki,,…Agree ??

  • Musharab

Will tell as soon as it is avilable in India

  • Musharab

How can they say that this will further make your experience horible

  • Arnold

My Z3+ still hung and had to remove the sim to forcibly switch it off. It developed after the nougat update

  • Wooty

You’re making a big mistake buddy. Go and get yourself an ipad pro or galaxy tab A S Pen version would certainly serve you better.

  • Musharab

    so sad

  • Fabrizio Sciannella

Z5 volume very low when i received a call

  • Musharab

    Which Model ??

  • Musharab

Volume is not yet an issue for me…Neither on .372 nor .376

  • Deki

I just got the .376 update on my Z5, phone is really slower than usual. I will perform factory reset to see what will happen. Looks good though. :)

  • Damodar Reddy

Buying sony mobiles is big Mistake…. don’t every buy Z4 or Z5 Series. Go for One Plus 3T or any other mobile under 30K INR.

  • Damodar Reddy

Bro… not expecting to receive India next 10 days…. Strange Sony.

  • Damodar Reddy

Bro.. something going wrong with Sony, after update not getting good battery life/backup and not getting quick charge also

  • Musharab

Wouldn’t Help You….Stillit is recommended to perform a clean installation for System update. Complaints from entire world are coming for Z5 Line Update

  • I have made 104,000 bucks in 2016 by freelancing from my house and I did that by working part-time for 3 or sometimes more hrs on daily basis. I was following work model I came across online and I am thrilled that I was able to earn so much money. It’s very beginner-friendly and I’m just so blessed that i found this. Here’s what I do… http://statictab.com/iyxniid

  • Antwnis

stop spamming on every post mate

  • Deki

Let’s hope we get 7.1 or even further updates that will make the phone good again.

  • Akand

Hahaha. Who can’t differentiate in smaller, for him it’s a mistake. But for me Xperia flagships are solid. From Z to Z5, I just skipped Z3, and can say, how long Sony makes phones, I’ll buy. Most stable android for me.

  • mrninko

Volume is issue on Z5, ringtones of incommings calls are very low even they at set to maximum.

  • Akand

Did you notice media volume changes?
Loudness decreased, but quality of sound has improved a lot. Z5c user here..

  • Antwnis

Let them take other brands and whining about NOT getting updates and bugs they never had with Sony. Who cares. It is known that Sony has the most stable devices, yet they are not advertised as samsung. Marketing victims

  • Dilipkumar

Thanks for your support for old devices
    Great Sony go ahead

  • Bryan Grobmann

    Me too, i’m from Brazil.

  • Karl Maier

Z4 still an excellent tablet and half price of IPAD pro. screen is excellent. it’s light and quick.

  • Garam Tamas

same here on Z5C since the previous release. will update to the latest firmware now to see if it has been fixed.

  • Deki

I found out that after activating Stamina Mode the phone gets slow. I did a factory reset after the update, SD card formatted too, phone is great. But if I activate Stamina Mode the phone gets really slow!

  • mrninko

    Let us know then

  • Han Alexandrea

cause this update disable 4x core 2.0 ghz
now your phone just like quad core smartphone
lol buy octa core smartphone for more performance and get nothing

  • Han Alexandrea

mine too, before 376 i like to play music on my sony xperia z5c

  • Han Alexandrea

    agree !

  • Raja Manivas Vennapu

Battery life is ok with *.376 update. It is worse in *.372

  • Daniel Johanzon

they have not even received the update to Z5 compact yet

  • Cem Turan

Downloading for Customized NOBA via Xperia Companion. Didn’t show up in phone.

  • Wooty

Remember you are buying not only the device itself. The quality and support as well. Brace yourself for another 4 years update support from Apple. UI, Icons and new features will be provided for each major update. Certainly not a junk, crap, bored, bugs filled and cheap update from a crap company. Samsung’s tab A wise its much more cheaper than the mentioned junk but don’t expect much support for it. As you may know, quality has its price. Don’t ended up of buying a junk product which not worth its cost.

  • John Walker

    Rubish. You talking bullshit

  • John Walker

Put it on prefferd performance on stamina custamization panel. I have superior performance on my Z5 Premium

  • Musharab

    Thats how Sony made it

  • Musharab

I would prefer waiting three more months to get an polished bug free update

  • razorg

Please do tell us if there is anything you notice once you update your device. (Mine is Customized UK region Z5 Compact E5823, and I just got the .376 update today)

  • Matteo Lucchesi

Maybe you are too critical. My Z5 Compact with Nougat is perfect, faster than Android 6. I have made a factory reset.

  • Mehran

Please update z3plus camera in auto mode… Working only 8mp in auto superior mode.

  • u43spn

Now have i got the update in Sweden 32.3.A.0.378 to my Z5c E5823. Telia is my provider.

  • Same with my Z5

  • razorg

I just want to tell everyone what I observed, on the topic of “disables A57 cores”:

Today, I got .376 update for my Customised UK E5823 Z5 Compact. After letting the update to settle and a few restarts etc, I downloaded the “Multi-Core Observer” app from Google Play, which shows you the utilisation of every core seperately, in a floating chart. Then I ran Geekbench 4 benchmark and observed the charts. Mostly it was the “SMALL” A53 cores which were active, but for some parts of the benchmark, “big” A57 cores were utilised at 100% for an unexpectedly long time, ALL 4 OF THEM. This shows that in order not to get substantially low scores in benchmarks, Sony must’ve categorised these benchmark apps and given them the option to use the chipset to its potential. However, then I switched to a game. I ran Asphalt Extreme, which is a fairly new game and most probably built to utilize the newer “multi core” technologies. Again observing the core utilisations during the gameplay, I’ve seen that mostly A53 cores ran and a single A57 core getting utilised over ~50-60% all the time. And the GPU frequency hovered around 384 MHz and never reached the max 630Mhz which this S810 chipset is capable of, so the gameplay is actually worse than what you might expect from a powerful flagship chipset such as S810 and a low resolution 720p screen. Don’t get me wrong, it still is quite playable/good. But certainly not as good as you might expect from this combination as I said.

So, to cut short: It is EITHER Sony, which categorises the apps and treats different categories differently (letting benchmarks utilize the chipset to the full before temperatures climb high, but restricting games, which are obviously run by the users for longer periods no matter what the temperature is), OR if the apps are relatively old, and not coded to utilise newer multi-core technologies, they simply use the chipset LESS than they could’ve used…

  • Zayed Kotayba

I noticed that too but I never tried to test it with benchmark apps!
This is really disappointing for a flagship and the Z5 family has the second batch (enhanced one) and has some kinda water cooled heating pipes system which performed why better than other SD810 phone’s

  • cristian06yxtl

    dialer still laggy on .078?

  • Jairo Ramirez

I’ve noticed that the volume level is a bit lower, but the sound quality improved. I can hear bass sounds clearer than before, so is not that bad.

  • deekbee

I’ve been very pleasantly surprised by .376 on my Z5C – first that it was released relatively quickly, and the overall device performance is definitely improved.

  • cristian06yxtl

@razorgcy:disqus verry good observation I also can confirm that A57 cores runing ,but maybe not all apps use 8 cores ,maybe most of them use only 4 cores,I open all my apps on the phone ,and yes A57 working

  • cristian06yxtl

.378 available on xperiafirm region norway

  • razorg

Thanks for the reply :) It is quite certain and observable though, Sony does not want anything to use the big A57 cores for long periods in order to keep the device cooler and to conserve battery life, so the device tends to use the SMALL A53 cores more than the others. But it’s also seen that the big A57 cores are definitely not disabled, which is a plus :)

  • razorg

Z5 and Z5P sure have heatpipes, but not Z5 Compact. So either way, throttling technique is excessively used in order not to have damaged/burnt/exploding phones though :)

  • cristian06yxtl

Yes A57 are not disabled ,i speak at sony support romania ,and they confirm that A57 cores its working, but need more pressure ,daily use its not enaugh And on xda i got to advice to flash custom kernel in order to utilize all power of SOC Maybe i will root and try custom kernel On other hand i found a custom rom 7.0 on chinese site ,wich seems verry promising, and his devs update rom once for week But im not able to download

  • Zayed Kotayba

Yes offcourse but I don’t see why SONY used the SD810 in both of Z5 and Z3+ if it has those severe problems with overheating and both of these devices have very beautiful design but the SoC held it back with performance although I would say SONY devices has the best version of this SoC I got 96000 on Antutu Benchmark which is the highest score you can get on SD810

  • cristian06yxtl

    dialer still laggy on .078?

  • cristian06yxtl

    some toughts about new update?

  • u43spn

So far everyting is working good, better battery lifitime if you look in the battery app and everyting else is gooing smooth. For me it’s OK

  • cristian06yxtl

    Thx alot ,dialer still laggy?

  • razorg

Well, when I scroll really fast through my call log, it seems laggy but nothing affecting my daily use.

  • cristian06yxtl

thx i just download .378 ,i will charge my phone and flash

  • cristian06yxtl

I have uploaded new update to my account ,if someone want to try let me know

  • xx1182

I’m italian, and still haven’t recived N, neither from OTA or Xperia Companion…

  • cristian06yxtl

@Xper iBlog can i share update .32.3.A.0.378 link?

  • cristian06yxtl

    check with xperiafirm

  • ArunRock

Does this update fixes A57 disabled cores?

  • cristian06yxtl

they are not disabled ,just need more pressure Read comment below

  • Musharab

    I think ……you can

  • cristian06yxtl

i will wait 30 mins for xperiablog approval

  • Zayed Kotayba

Regardless of the complains the update is definitely better than Marshmallow in term of performance and lag but there is so many little bugs and the most annoying one is Bluetooth disconnecting by itself and refuse to reconnect with accessories also today I noticed that after the update my SWR50 didn’t sync with phone anymore like calendar etc. I don’t know if the problem is from the update or from the watch maybe someone in the blog could tell me if something similar happened to them

  • razorg

I wish they had used S808 instead, on both Z3+ and Z5, though. I guess they didn’t want to create a perception where they are “lesser” than others having S810. But as you said, although S810 is better than S808 on paper, in real life S808 copes better with everything, as it doesn’t heat that much. Also, I’ve heard before Marshmallow HTC M9 (with the same S810 SoC) had an Antutu score of ~90000, same as our Z3+/Z5 and Nexus 6P phones, but with MM it could reach up to 110000. Clearly they slightly removed throttling measures as it can better dissipate the heat due to its all metal body. My scores didn’t get any better with Nougat, on my Z5 Compact though. Geekbench is almost the same (with a slight increase in multi core) and Antutu is worse than MM. On MM, I could get ~95000, and now this: (bear in mind I waited really long enough for the device to cool down before the benchmarks and the environment here is quite chilly now, ~15 degrees Celsius.)

  • Dilipkumar

    Size?

  • Zayed Kotayba

Wow it’s so low!! one thing to note that try to charge the phone 100% and benchmark it with AnTuTu it seems like a weird suggestion but I always notice that the phone start to throttle when the phone battery is less than certain point (I don’t have evidence to support my claims) mainly this problems occur on lollipop so it might be the same problem happening with Nougat

  • bLd

    I haven’t even got .376 yet, and they released .378. :/

  • 3_nity

    :D

  • FELIPEACYDC

    bye heat issues

  • FELIPEACYDC

i notice that heat issues are gone. Anything else are the same, at my sight

  • Antonio Escobedo Tzintzun

Does anyone have the Firmware for the Sony Xperia Z5 E6603 Generic LAM? What happens is that in FlashTool gives me error when creating the FTF file.

  • Rob Gillingwater

Installed 376 and after about 6 hours mostly on standby, it appears to be fine from a speed perspective, but bluetooth seems to have consumed 84% of the battery on standby with no bluetooth device attached. Otherwise the phone runs much cooler and uses far less battery life overall even without Stamina switched on

  • Aldi Wan Kenobi

Yes…I’ve updated my Z5Compact to Android 7. Battery Life is really improved! Very happy about this!

  • Moisés

When i bought my z4, 2 A57 were not shown as enabled. After 2 updates ( still 5.0.2) another A57 was shown as disabled.

    Cpu Z shows 4 A53 + 1 A57 for me.
But my z4 was able to reach almost 82000 on antutu. It is close to 810’s ceiling.

Now I updated to 6.0 this month, I guess it scores something like 72000…
Some z5 owners can reach 86000.

  • Moisés

It is weird… Z5 compact should have heat pipes because it is smaller. Harder to lose heat compared do z5P

  • Moisés

About z3+, nobody knew it was going to happen.
Htc and LG had same problem.

It would be weird to bring z5 with 808, as sucessor of z4 with 810.

Z5 would have a weaker gpu too.

  • Moisés

Yes, that is right.. Htc has metal body and no waterproofing… Heat comes out easier..

Z4 tablet does not have heat issues… Bigger and made of plastic..

  • razorg

Yeah. I guess, to make it a “cheaper” “Compact” variant, Sony sacrificed a lot on this model… https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Sony+Xperia+Z5C+Teardown/53206

  • razorg

Was it also heating on .376 as well. I notice it’s a lot cooler now on .376 when compared to 5.11 MM.

  • Moisés

XZ can shoot 20 or 23 on auto..
I don’t think we will get rid of the 8mp

  • Moisés

    New stamina has 3 modes..

One of them seems to be very aggressive..

  • razorg

I actually meant going for S808 for Z3+ in the first place, and carrying on with it on the Z5 series as well. Look at LG G4, hardly any overheating complaints on the internet about it…

  • cristian06yxtl

Sorry man i forgot to mention its size unarchieved ,archieved have 2.78 gb

  • Moisés

Oi Bryan… O cara do androidpit me mandou cópia do email vindo da Sony. Lá dizia que para cá já estava liberado..

O seu é desbloqueado ou de operadora?

  • Zayed Kotayba

Also SONY could sikped the SD810 altogether and go straight to SD820 I bought my phone on December 2015 and the SD820 already was out but not in production

  • razorg

Here’s another test, after you suggestion. Not much of a difference… https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/064b80e50dc91afdbb757e6f2f41c8d39fb86d931505289dd2217f8e6ac5005e.png

  • razorg

    Yeah that was a shame too… :(

  • Moisés

Z4 tablet is as its name says the tablet version of z3+.
Probably 7.1.1 is its last update.
I do not think Sony sends security updates when they are older than 2 years.
Z4 Tablet was considered the best android tablet of 2015. You can purchase a little keyboard to use with it..
The display is 2K, no heat issues.

I would like one too but it is not available in my country.

  • Moisés

Any way it too big…. For bugs correction.. Must be a whole new nougat

  • Moisés

I see… Like I said, nobody would know.. And too late to change project..

  • Moisés

They already save money using HD screen and 2gb ram.

Z3 Compact looks way cheaper than z3..
M4 looks more premium than z3 compact..

  • cristian06yxtl

I think its new whole nougat Installed by 20 mins ,so far so good All cores working but A57 not at full potential

  • Dalibor Ćorić

    Cristian06yxti give as link, please.

  • cristian06yxtl

Instaled 32.3.A.0.378 20 mins ago ,so far so good, sound seems loud, dialer its not much laggy ,battery?? so early to speak of ,gallery load weird ,double tap to wake work well I use xperia home version 10.1.A.2.0 still have option to use small icons

  • cristian06yxtl

ok wait 2 mins pls i will post here

  • Dalibor Ćorić

  • Dalibor Ćorić

    Nice

  • Cem Turan

No issues yet. Had really awful battery drain on 6.0, appears to be gone now. Did not do a reset.

  • cristian06yxtl

Seems not heating quick and much I forgot to mention Z3+ user here

  • Renzo Morla

still got nothing for dual sim variants.
check xperim firm and flashtool just had for single sim and norway

  • razorg

Yeah you’re right about Z3C :D But Sony did try to cut down costs with every “commercially” possible aspect of Z5C, like 720p screen, 2GB RAM, no heatpipes, no reinforced corners on the phone chassis, 1×1 SISO WiFi antenna instead of 2×2 MIMO like Z5…

  • raj

    Tell me ur customization number

  • Juan David Ramírez Girón

I’m still waiting for the first Nougat update in Spain TT

  • Bryan Grobmann

Z5 compact is kinda weird too. Frame looks plastic.

The yellow was on my wish list, but I needed a dual sim.. All compacts are single sim..

  • Moisés

Also I think X Compact should have the 13mp selfie…
It is all plastic.. Sony was saving money already…

  • bLd

What about image quality in album.
Because it takes much time to render the image quality sharper.
    Is that fixed

  • Renhui Lee

The 4G status bar icon now has larger arrows when indicating data transfer

  • Wooty

Superior in every aspect? Lol. What makes a junk device that extraordinary when its definitely lack of support in every terms and probably advancing to the eol’s recycle bin soon fanboy? Go ahead and jerk yourself off. Precisely sales would prove you wrong junkie.

  • SonyMan

I am happy with what the s810 can achieve on our phones to be honest. Form what I’ve seen neither sd808 nor s650/652 can outperform s810 although both s650 and s652 van outperform sd808 in every but graphics tests. So as far as I’m concerned I think they did a right choice there or maybe it’s the device that’s plays a vital role in all of this. Owning a Z5P I’ve seen nothing but improvements in every aspect of the phone. I’ve not updated to .378 but my geekbench scores where improved on .376 since MM .11. Run on almost identical environment (10 degrees Celsius, 65% humidity and 3m/s wind speed according to Sony’s weather app) the phone gave single core:1346 and multi core:3681 on latest MM and 1348 and 3892 on Nougat 376. respectively. I’ve seen s810 devices that cannot even get over 3000 on multi core performance so I consider Sony’s job on the device extraordinary if not excellent.

  • Gregory See

Hey man, just stop arguing with this chap. Silence is never more golden than when a quarrel is brewing. His nick means everything. A fucking serious sony defender fanboy. I go for bezeless unquestionable!

  • Damodar Reddy

Hi Phil g, please let me know which country available now? Any idea about when do I get in India.

  • Wooty

Yeah I almost forgot Sony used to be the king of bezels. And he just won it. Thx for the heads up buddy.

  • FYLegend21

Still no Nougat for Taiwan, Hong Kong or Singapore…

  • Musharab

I guess change log is not provided.

  • Ricardo Hernández

still don’t have noudat update in Hong Kong except xperia xz.
    What a marketing

  • Sigma

There is a bug with estimated battery usage by bluetooth. If you look inside you will notice, that according to battery applet bluetooth is using more mah than battery have. Bu there is no drain in fact, just an estimation is wrong.

  • gunnar

Got the Nougat update last night. .378. Works fine so far. over all, quicker phone. Some nice new features.. Cant tell about battery life yet. But so far so good!

  • John Walker
  • Samar Vaishampayan

    tell us about new features.

  • ANSHUL

    Must tell about battery performance.

  • razorg

Did you update from .5.11 MM or .372/.376 Nougat?

  • razorg

~3600/3800 Multi core score on Geekbench 4 with Snapdragon 810? :O Dude, that’s Snapdragon 820 stuff! Are you sure it’s Geekbench 4? (there’s a Geekbench 3 too). On .5.11 MM, I’d get ~2800 Multi core and ~1300 Single core on Geekbench 4. But now on .376 Nougat, Single core almost stayed the same, but multi core score increased up to ~3300, and I’m quite happy with it.

  • Jonis Makleods

I am wondering about peoples talking that CPU don’t utilize its full potential… I think it is wrong thinking about full potential. Small phone with huge power potential CPU is not a PC with 3rd party heatsink/fan. Think about it – now we have multicore CPU with speed comparable to personal computer, but in very compact body. Do you think small device w/o active cooling can compete with persnal computer? Unfortunately phone can’t be designed to work on full load constantly – there is limiting factor – heat dissipation ability. If you wanna have phone with ability to work on full load constantly, you need to consider phone with slow CPU – it will not overheat and will not lower its speed (it will wun slow all the time, at full potential), but at the same time it couldn’t provide short fast sprints on demand. I personally prefer phone with minimal energy consumption, w/o constant battery draining by very fast and energy hungry CPU loaded by background applications. I am still searching good Process Monitor for Android, something like Process Explorer on Windows PC.

  • Frode P. Bergsager

Z5C and Z5 received .378 in Norway today.

  • Dennis

There’s a difference in utilizing the full potential of a 8 core CPU and having 4 cores disabled at all times because of no obvious reasons ;)

Yes the image enhancement bug is fixed as well. Takes about 2 seconds to render the enhancements.

Unfortunately I can’t upload the screenshot here because of an error… I can confirm the scores I posted for .11 MM are on geekbench 4.0.3 and the ones from .376 Nougat are on geekbench 4.0.4. It maybe is because of low outside temperature that I ran the test but from what I recall I’ve never seen anything under 3300 on multi core score since I bought the device. I only got 2750 on the first release of nougat that was pulled but I’ve already updated and didn’t want to go back since I knew Sony would provide fast enough a new one. This score came because the A57 never worked. They were always stopped in cpuz and other monitoring apps. Besides that as I told you I’ve never seen anything lower than 3300 even inside my house. I’ll upload on Drive and provide the link.

  • Feras Al Srouji

Can you attach a screenshot include phone name?

Finally got the update last night. Not sure what this 378 is supposed to fix because this was my 1st Nougat update.
All good so far but I hate that you need to tap twice to turn off Data or WiFi. What the shit??

  • ANSHUL

    What about battery performance?

  • Antwnis

Do we have any news about the changelog for this small update?

Few months before, if Sony released an update it will hits all the region in maximum two days but nowadays it not happening. Disappointed

  • gunnar

Well, Some nice new cosmetic features is the first I notice. Smoother, much smoother. Hard to tell about battery, but it seems to be maybe an 25% increase in battery life. Wich is very nice and quite unexcpected.

  • gunnar

    nope! Smooooth!

I’ve seen that mostly A53 cores ran and a single A57 core getting utilised over ~50-60% all the time.

I ran some tests and got exactly the same results with 6.0.1 rom, so it seems it’s not nougat-specific.

  • FYLegend21

    Great, another What’s New update

  • Phil g

It’s fixed on .378. I had the same issue on .376 but on .378 it’s working like it should be.

  • Phil g

Your welcome. Also, you can download flash tool on PC that has the firmware checker built in. Plus you can download and install new firmware updates straight from flash tool.

  • RealityCheck2017

Got Nougat yesterday for my Z4 Tablet and, Hmm it’s ok. But it just seems like they move things for no reason and you have to relearn it all over again(which is F-IN annoying) :-/ + I never notice any improvements really to. I find all these updates pointless really. I got a Z1 phone and that doesn’t get the big updates no more and I LOVE IT THAT WAY!!! :D

  • SonyMan

I can confirm it’s geekbench 4. Specifically 4.0.3 for the scores on MM (.11) amd 4.0.4 9n nougat (.376). Since Xperia Blog seems to delete or sth my comments amd doesn’t let me upload photos for no reason, since I meet the format and size requirements of photo uploads, I’m providing a link with the scores on Drive. It’s the 3Rd time I’m posting for the same reason so I hope I won’t have to do it again.

Can anyone please tell me if there is a way of getting rid of the “Phone Idle” battery drain WITHOUT resetting the device via Xperia Companion? I don’t want to go through installing/logging into apps shenanigans again (I’ve lost the count of how many times I did that since I https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/51900f63cbb507aa477fcd90893abf56e10fdcb90c35cf0ddbbec06420d9f8f2.png https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/9956225226707378da3c04da766c44358f17b26e7b33a4c5ce20b9952ea93f59.png https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/56893af56008514545e375ead464941c19038e1d9138af35c5d039701df9fc18.png bought this phone back in October ’15)

  • Vahid Sanati

Agreed with moving things. most important the clear all apps key that is really bad positioned and annoying to press in the top of screen with one hand.

  • rus_media

Sony is really damn care about that. I tried almost everything without software repair. Cause I know it won’t help much. I close every software before sleep. Still it took so much charge after I wok up.

  • David Hernandez

Yes, I would try it. But I have an problem, my version of Z5C is E0803 and apparently the new firmware is available for E823, I hope that all receive the update, because, Xperiablog have said that they didn’t know if the update will be available for all.
An question more, did you do an hard reset after the update?
    Thanks for information

  • Sigma

About what drain are you talking? If you check computed power use you will notice, that it uses very little battery. It’s just high % because our phones most of the time are just idle.

  • Philip Ngui

I hate the fact u have to tap twice to turn off data wifi. Thought it was just me!

  • Moisés

    Only 30mAh in almost 3 hours…
As you use you phone this Idle is going to be less expressive…

  • Moisés

    Yes I understand you…

On lollipop I was not able to use hdr for 20mp. Now I have 6.0 and I can use it.
People say on 7.0 if you choose 20mp you can change ISO but can not turn on HDR.

I do not get it.. Add then remove. What is the point?

  • Smarty79

Better this way than apple rolling out 10.0 in a big bang making millions of devices close to unusable. Or Android 6 on S5 which had lots of problems in the first release.

No one will die if he waits one more week for a new smartphone OS release.

  • xx1182

Is stil locked, and i don’t want root…
On xpericheck it seems out, also with xperiafirm..
But neither OTA or Xperia Companion shows it :/

  • iArvee

I had the same problem back in 372. I realized that it’s not really a battery drain, but just the new doze in Android N. Download Gsam (better if rooted) and you’ll see that it’s mostly caused by the Motion Sensor (invensense motion detector to be exact). I read up on XDA about this and it’s mostly just your device going into the first stage of doze. This also happens on other phones like the G5. Again, not really a battery drain, just an indicator of how often your phone goes into idle. As for the computed power usage, I don’t think it really drains a lot.

  • Wert

I would be surprised if you not get this update, maybe someone else can answer you about this or email support. I did not do any hard reset :). You are welcome and good luck.

  • NinJy

I feel that 378 drains less than 376.. Not sure.

  • ADIL TARIQ

When is this 32.3.A.0.378 update going to rollout worldwide? Only norway and noba builds have been released yet. Is it going to be released for other countries or not?

  • Sigma

For Z3+ Dual there is no ftf on sony servers. For Z3+ only Telnor NO branded firmware, so we have to wait :)

  • rus_media

Before nougat update my phone took highest 10% in the sleeping time. Now it takes more that 25%. Have no Idea what is is using. Even .372 was far better that .376

  • LazAndKor

No. HDR wasnt removed at 20mp manual. IF you turn on HDR on manual 20mp, iso settings go back to auto, thats all. They just cant both be turned on. Individually, they are both available in the settings and working.

  • 10.2.A.2.31beta

  • Moisés

Someone told me on nougat you cannot turn on hdr for 20mp on z4 .

  • Han Alexandrea

lol my sony xperia z5 compact just get 65000 :)

  • Anonymouse

Amen to that! Still on .305 MM

  • Sigma

So the “phone idle” was responsible of 10% battery used during your sleeping. And other 90% was drained by other apps. No “phone idle” is responsible for 25% – that means the rest of apps consumes 75% of battery used overnight. This is what this “%” means in battery menu.

  • rus_media

    You got it wrong.

  • Wert

I dont need to tap twice to turn off WiFi. If you pull down fast menu from the top of the screen you can push only once to turn it on/off. But if you pull down fast menu all the way you have to push it twice.

  • Samar Vaishampayan

Marshmallow is far better than Sony’s so called nougat update. Trust me.

  • Max Frauendorfer

same here – I think they fixed the drain from the adaptive display light (in 376 you needed to disable).

    4G symbol looks different (bigger).

No more “Fingerprint Hardware not available” issues.

  • Khillo81

Seeing as how these regions didn’t get the .376, I would say this is the Nougat firmware for these regions (i.e. they get the .378 instead of the .376). Why? I have no idea but I would bet that this is a region-specific firmware

  • Ben Solomon

Still waiting for Nougat on my Z3 Plus (HK version). Come on Sony and share the Nougat already.

  • Renzo Morla

Still nothing, this update is just for single sim and norway, i see xpericheck web there is nothing new for dual sim version yet

  • Nomak

Updated a Z5C yesterday to .376 (writing from Italy, the update was available since last week), doing a factory reset after installing the new version. I encountered an annoying bug with the keyboard during the initial bootup sequence, where it just hung up when prompted to insert the gmail address (didn’t take any input), but after a while and a few reloads of the prompt screen it just woke up and let me type as usual. I don’t know if it is a bug specific of the initialization sequence since I immediatly installed swiftkey.
Other than this, the phone runs smooth and I’m not experiencing any battery drain problem. On idle, while still connected to a wireless network, it sipped a little less than 1% per hour.

I like the new layout and interface, for now, although I recognize that the placing of the buttons in the recent app screen is a little… unfortunate.

  • Nomak

I would strongly advice against it.

  • rus_media

Don’t believe .378 is bugs free. Not interested yet. Will wait more.

  • Antwnis

Good for you. You should also sell your sony and buy something else. Just stop posting -spamming. Please.

  • Antwnis

I think the correct order is factory reset, install new firmaware and factory reset again for clean instal. But you can still have this bug, who knows

  • Robert Dunn

Si usted se atreve a flashearle el firmware de otra región, pudiera hacerlo y así obtener Nougat de una vez…aunque tendrias que empezar desde cero y borrar todo del teléfono.

  • rus_media

  • SonyMan

I hope you understand that sth is really wrong with your rom right? I’m running stock, non rooted with locked bootloader firmware and logic says on can’t have a multicore score same with single core. You either have 7 dead cores or sth really bad. You should definitely factory reset amd watch what you install. I haven’t run antutu yet but last time I ran it on latest lollipop was around 80000. I know for sure MM gave better scores so I assume nougat will too.

  • Samar Vaishampayan

The scores are obtained after factory resetting the phone once and hard resetting the phone twice.

  • Samar Vaishampayan

please see the antutu score screenshot again. The single core and multicore results are not same but different.

  • FYLegend21

There was some discussion on Sony’s forum that the 8 cores are just “offline” in some apps, but they still work.

  • FYLegend21

Same with Z5/Z3+ and even Xperia X in Taiwan. Some people think they don’t want countries closer to Japan to get a buggy update, or maybe they think people there would buy a new phone every year…

  • FYLegend21

Interesting, I thought it was a hardware problem caused by using high ISOs like the HTC One M7 had a similar problem. Maybe they tweaked the noise performance.

  • FYLegend21

Is shutter lag bad with third party apps like FV5? Does the camera refocus itself when the camera button is fully pressed?

  • rus_media

First you go somewhere else. No one ask you to comment here. And keep you friend with you.

  • Yami Devil

I already read it was a software problem, I had to use the light feature to make them look better in the dark. But some other camera apps had normal pics when I tried them. All in all, I’m glad they sorted it out

Nougat is mostly good but it has broken one thing that used to work on previous versions. I have a song set as my text message notification and I used to be able to press the power button on the side of the phone to stop the notification sound, this no longer works and I can’t find a setting to enable it. I do know that the call notifcation can be silenced by pressing the volume key but this doesn’t work for texts.

After a week with nougat on z3+.,with system repair i can tell No lag ,UI its smooth ,phone dont check itself to update applixation ,widgets dont update itself ,and battery its worst than MM In MM i reach with moderate use 2 days ,on N i can reach 1 day Seems to be a bluetooth problem ,in dayly use my bluetooth its open all time ,and when i close bluetooth ,battery lasting for more time

xperia tips, xperia tips service and software update got updated for z3+ in India today. Nogat .378 update might be released in next 2 days.

  • Samar Vaishampayan

    yes for z3+ also.

  • rus_media

I got those yesterday on Z5 dual.

  • ANSHUL

What about battery and other bugs are they fixed in. 378 version?

  • ANSHUL

Dude its application update not software

  • kaprime

    Z5 PREMIUM DUAL 6833 FTF ????????

  • rus_media

It was written that, “Software Update”. No application was updated. Every time I got an update like that before there is a System update. But this time I have confusion on any system is going to be updated soon.

  • rus_media

Read what Samar Vaishampayan wrote. He told about “Xperia Tips” & “Xperia Tips service” were updated. I got those yesterday. And today I got , “Software Update”.

  • Samar Vaishampayan

Above updates always precede a major update. Wait till tommorrow (Sony always seeds updates on Tuesday and Thursday). Hopefully Nougat.378 update will be seeded for India.

  • logan

Tried that but the problem still persists

  • SonyMan

The difference in multi core are negligent… Having many cores means multiplying core performance sth your device doesn’t do at all. I don’t know what experience others have but from what I’ve seen scores as low as yours are nowhere to be found. I bought my Z5P on July 2016 and came with lollipop out of the box. First thing I did was to update to latest lollipop and ran antutu. I remember giving me 80.000+ without even letting the rom to settle for a couple of hours. I immediately updated to marshmallow and run antutu again without factory reset. I dirty upgraded lollipop to marshmallow through ota and the antutu score was higher again, though by a small margin, but again without letting the rom settle in. Geekbench scores were in accordance as well and now in Nougat everything took a boost, like literally. Camera capture speed, open up speed from lockscreen, scrolling is improved everywhere, opening apps and changing between them are excellent and battery lasts almost an hour more on screen on time and my usage pattern is almost identical from day to day. Brightness of the screen is always on the same level and generally the phone excels on almost every task I’ve put it through. I’ll run antutu soon since I’m on data plan for a month now and I cannot consume Mb for antutu download. I’m sure from what I’m experiencing on live usage scores will be better on synthetic benchmarks as well.

i didnt get update on my xperia z5 e6653 yet i m from india plz help

  • Tasadduq Hussain

It means that the application which updates the software and checks for the software has been updated.

  • Ates

    Uk still waiting

  • rus_media

But after that very little update, my Xperia care saying that there is no more nougat update. Where before the update it was telling that, there will be another nougat update. Its very sad. :(

  • rus_media

Updated and saying that, there will be no more update, when I clearly saw that there would be another nougat update was written.

  • Neev Pawar

It’s Thursday.. No update yet :(

  • Tasadduq Hussain

Yes but the update has still not been released to your region so no update will be shown. When the update becomes available in your region then the application will check and notify you of the system update. Until then just wait for it.

  • rus_media

But before this update, it was showing that there will be a new nougat update. Even after the .376

  • Samar Vaishampayan

Nougat .378 is now seeded to half of Europe, few . Looks like global update to me.

  • Samar Vaishampayan

  • I got paid $104,000 last year by freelancing from my house and I did that by working in my own time for few h every day. I followed work model I came across online and I am thrilled that i earned such great money. It’s really beginner-friendly and I’m so thankful that i learned about it. This is what i did… http://itreplaceitall.com

Upgraded to .378 on 21st Feb first. I am in Sweden.
    Performance was good.

Gave it for screen replacement to Sony on the weekend and got it back after 10 days. They installed nougat fresh again and post that it is blazing fast! I have been using it for atleast 4 days now.
Very much satisfied with the update.
Battery performance is similar for me if compared with marshmallow.

    Overall, very good!

  • rus_media

Call log lagging gone? Mine is still so much annoying with .376.

  • nik

It is still there if you scroll down or up very fast.

  • Dax G

Don’t know about all this A53 A57 stuff?
But from an average Z5 owner, I need to whinge about the following :

Dialer – what happened to the Frequent dialed numbers up the top of the screen?
It seems that they have been tacked it on the bottom of Stared Contacts, as an after thought?
The Alphabet on the right hand side has been removed so you need to scroll?
The whole layout is just a pain in the ass!
Why fix something that isn’t stuffed??
How all the changes make it quicker/easier to use, has got me f****d!

The whole VOLUME UI is way over complicated and should have not been touched.
Yes, very clever! You can adjust the in call volume when you are on your recent calls window, without being on a call… FOR WHAT REASON??
I constantly find my Call and Notification Volume on “wake up the kids”mode, without adjusting it??

What ever happened to being able to rotate the home screen??
Who forgot to tick the box several updates ago? Bit of a rookie error for a bunch of smart buggers..

This last update has made me want to take up drinking, abuse drugs and throw up…
    All At Once!!
I’ve been taking out my anger on my mother inlaw’s pathetic excuse for a dog.. Ok, yes I do always give the dog a hard time but thats not my point!

  • I have made 104,000 bucks previous year by freelancing from home and I manage that by working in my own time for few h /daily. I followed an earning model I found on-line and I am excited that i earned so much extra income. It’s beginner friendly and I’m just so grateful that i discovered it. Check out what I do… http://s.id/272

  • Samar Vaishampayan

  • Objectif

    Ah OK.

  • Dominic St Pierre

Still no Nougat update at all in Canada. Using the Z5 Compact E5823, v6.01. What can I do? looks like I was forgotten….

  • Kayla

I can’t see any Canada-specific CDA in XperiFirm. What’s your phone’s customization code? You can check it under the diagnostics/facts.

  • Ates

In Uk for z3+ was forget…uk was the most important but..

  • Damodar Reddy

Sony… after updating Android N update (376) I am having heating issues and slow charging and over all not having good performance. I am really disappointed why sony not doing proper optimization and on top of that saying nonsense words customer propriety and sanctification important. Please don’t buy any sony mobiles and not getting one day battery backup also and I wasted 40000 rupees buying sony Z5 dual. Common sony never seen such a bad updates from you..

  • Kayla

XperiFirm says, it’s a Hong Kong Customized rom, and still no 7.0 update available. You can update manually with a general rom like 1298-7782. I did the same with my Z5 dual E6633 and it works. No factory reset required. :)

  • Dominic St Pierre

That’s awesome, thanks so much for taking the time to give me a hand :)
When you say manually, what do you mean?

  • Kayla

Maybe I was a bit misleading. Manually = not by the built-in updater.

You can select and download the desired firmware with XperiFirm, then create FTF bundle and flash it with FlashTool. You need the latest version to flash nougat firmware.

    http://www.xperiablog.net/2016/03/12/install-xperia-marshmallow-using-flashtool-and-xperifirm-guide/

  • Ben Solomon

    Hk version also forgotten :(

  • Chris Anderson

I still haven;t got Nougat on my Z5 Compact yet Android O will be out before i get it.

  • EDUCASINO

What market and which operator is your firmware?

  • EDUCASINO

Hola, tengo el xperia z3 + E6533 dual, estará disponible .378 para esta versión? Gracias

  • SonyMan

I live in Europe, Greece and we mostly have unlocked devices. There are only two carriers here and they only add bloatware and their boot animation on top of stock firmwares. They are also unlocked to work with any carrier in the country no matter what. Software version is 32.3.A.0.376 and customization number 1299-4830 R3D. Model number E6853.

  • EDUCASINO

I live in Argentina, and I have the firmware of china hk, .305. But I have a xperia z3 + E6533 dual, I can upgrade to .376 customized brazil but it brings many errors nougat 7.0 so I’ll wait a little longer, I thought the .378 was already available for my model, Thanks.

  • EDUCASINO

    Device: Xperia Z3+ dual (E6533)

    Market: Hong Kong
    Operator: Customized HK

  • Sagar More

I m a sony fanboy from z series launch… But now days Sony really losing our trust and fans as well..Disappointed :(

  • Kitsilano69852

This is terrible update. Too many problems.

    1. Groups removed from contacts app. It is like going back to android 1.6 donut. Sony taking away features that were well used.

    2. Camera app can no longer change focusing type in manual mode. No more touch focus, no more multi point focus.

    3. Forced download of Spotify and it can’t be uninstalled. Sony is going back to forcing third party apps on their phones.

Seems like this android 7.0 is rushed and badly prepared.

  • Gilles Lelong

    Hello,
The update 32.3.A.0.376 was proposed to me last week for my Xperia Z5 (I’m with SFR France, always in the last to be updated). I thought I would enjoy the latest news related to androis nougat :-)
    Disappointment.
Since this update, the Bluetooth functionality of my smartphone has been very degraded. No more BT recognition in my vehicle, the connected devices could no
longer control the volume, move forward or backward in the playlists,
    stop or resume playback.
After two reset to factory settings, the problem remains the same, everything works well until the next turn on. I am very disappointed.
So I made a return to version 32.2.A.5.11 (android 6.0.1) while
waiting for a new update to android 7 to see the day with a stable
    Bluetooth.
I’m afraid that the 32.3.A.0.378 version that was put online a few days after version 32.3.A.0.376 has the same problems. But for now it is not available for my version of xperia Z5.

What a waste of time and energy!

    Have a good day

  • Noble Akan

After updating 7.0 battery drain too fast.
Now display on time just 2-3 hours.
    What can i do..?

Still wetting for Z3 plus in India

  • ajftl250

my z5 premium is not seeing this nougat when i hit check update or sony companion i have the E6853

  • Ben Solomon

Wonder if the fact that the 7.0 update is causing so many problems is the reason Sony is taking their time releasing the update to their Asia customers.

Hey Sony, FYI my HK purchased Z3 Plus is still waiting for some Nougat love.
