Earlier this week, we saw the new Sony Ericsson Xperia range get rooted. To do this you needed to unlock the bootloader first, something that some users weren’t comfortable with, especially as it can void your warranty. However, a new exploit has emerged for Android Gingerbread 2.3 devices called GingerBreak, enabling you to root your handset without unlocking the bootloader first.
All you need to do is download this apk file, install it to your SD card and run the file. This method should work on all new Xperia handsets including the arc, Neo and PLAY. This appears to be the easiest method yet and hopefully, a one-click tool such as SuperOneClick shouldn’t be too far off. Click here for more information over at xda-developers.
