Classic shooter R-Type hits Android optimised for Xperia PLAY

One of the most recognised arcade shooter games from the eighties, R-Type has finally made an appearance on Android Market. It hasn’t been dumbed down for modern audiences though featuring eight levels (with end of level bosses) and two different difficulty options.

The side-scrolling shooter, developed by DotEmu, has been optimised for the Xperia PLAY and costs $4.06 (£2.59). See a video of the game in action below.
