Sony Ericsson has confirmed over on its product blog what we have already known for days i.e. that the Android 2.3.4 update is rolling out to the 2011 range of Xperia handsets (Xperia arc, Xperia neo, Xperia ray and Xperia PLAY) in the Nordic countries. For those in other countries wondering when they can see the update, you should expect a long wait.
For some reason, Sony Ericsson says that all other regions will see the update at the end of October or early November. That’s a whole month away. We’ve never seen this happen before, so we wonder what the reasons behind the delay are. Maybe there will be some new functionality or maybe there’s another reason.
