FCC Xperia SThe Sony Xperia S and Japan-bound Xperia acro HD (SO-03D) handsets have both passed through the FCC. There has been little joy for those in the United States wondering whether the Xperia S will launch there. So far there’s been little word, with most of the US focus on the AT&T exclusive Xperia ion.

However, a trip through the FCC reveals that the Xperia S will carry AT&T’s 3G bands, giving some hope that it may launch on AT&T at some point. Even if it doesn’t get picked up by AT&T, Sony (Ericsson) fans could always import the handset knowing it has full compatibility with AT&T’s 3G network (no LTE support here unfortunately). The Xperia acro HD also passed through the FCC, which revealed the full NTT DoCoMo manual for the device.
