Perhaps we shouldn’t be looking too far ahead to the next major Android release especially as Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich has only just hit the Sony Xperia S. However, time stops for no one and with Google I/O on the horizon we should hopefully hear more details about the next major Android version soon.
Indeed it seems that the Google Play Store has prematurely revealed that this iteration will be called Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The information was captured when a user tried to purchase a GSM Galaxy Nexus on the Google Play Store. The description had a message “…soon the first phone with Android 4.1 Jell…”, that message has now been removed. Google I/O kicks off next week on 27 June, so fingers crossed we’ll hear some official details on Jelly Bean soon.
