Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is now out on Android and Sony has managed to grab timed exclusivity for the Xperia ion, Xperia PLAY (optimised for joypad) and the Xperia S. The game is a near-enough identical port of the well-received XBLA and PSN title. We first heard about the Android port back in September last year, at that point it was meant to launch November 2011, so fans have had a long wait.
Lara Croft: Guardian of Light sees the Tomb Raider heroine team up with a 2,000 year old Mayan warrior named Totec. It features a fixed 3D viewpoint and lots of puzzle solving. You can read an interview about the game with Ben Cusack, Brand and Marketing Director of Mobile at Square Enix Europe here. To celebrate the Android launch, the game is on sale with 50% off until 22 July 2012. You can get it on the Google Play Store for £0.99p/€1.19/$1.29.
