Xperia TX does not have HD Voice functionality

in Firmware, Xperia T

Sony Mobile has just published a post detailing a new software update for the Xperia T (LT30p) and Xperia TX (LT29i). Before you get too excited, Sony is referring to firmware version 7.0.A.3.195, which we already reviewed two weeks ago.

It brings a whole host of new features such as Wi-Fi Miracast Screen Mirroring, new Small Apps and media icons. For the Screen Mirroring, Sony recommends the Netgear dongle (PTV3000) for those TVs without built-in wireless capabilities. One additional new feature we forgot to mention at the time is the Extended standby mode that was previously found in the Xperia P.

Sony also talked about HD Voice capabilities on the Xperia T, but what surprised us is that this feature is not included in the Xperia TX. Given how close the hardware is for both handsets, it seems strange that it was omitted from the TX, especially as it features in so many past Sony handsets.
