Engadget has received a leaked image of what is believed to be an inventory pic from UK carrier, Three, showing release dates of upcoming phones. Interestingly, it shows that the ‘Sony Xperia Z1’ will land on 24 September, also mentioning that the handset will not be announced until 4 September.
We have longed for Sony to shorten the time lines between announcement and release and given that we already have the handset firmware certified on PTCRB, we were already speculating that there was a good chance of the handset launching very soon after IFA. The leaked image also seems to suggest that the C690X ‘Honami’ will have the Xperia Z1 marketing name.
