The reception to Sony’s QX series lens-style cameras has been phenomenal. There literally is nothing like this on the market by a well-known brand and consumers have been pre-ordering in droves. On Amazon.com, the more expensive DSC-QX100 ($498) is now the number one best-seller under its ‘Digital Cameras‘ section, the cheaper DSC-QX10 ($248) sits at number two.
The Amazon listing also states that it does not expect to be able to fulfill all customer orders in its first allocation due to “high demand”. It also states that supply from Sony is “very limited”. We wonder whether Sony may have under-estimate demand from this new category of imaging devices.
The DSC-QX10 and DSC-QX100 is also available to pre-order across Europe. In the UK, the Sony Store has the QX10 for £179, whilst the QX100 is £399. Across most of mainland Europe, the QX10 is available for €199 and the QX100 is €449.
