Sony Mobile has announced some new colours to its Xperia SmartTag offering. The light green, purple, orange and grey tags complement the existing NFC tags (black, white, blue and red). These SmartTags are labelled as ‘NT2’ on the product page, although we don’t know what that stands for? If anyone has any ideas, please let us know in the comments below.
Update: This is what Sony has to say on the difference: “The original tags prescribed tasks and actions to your smartphone based around “Where Am I?”, the new SmartTags will have a new theme “What am I doing?” Therefore it seems that these SmartTags will be compatible with the new Smart Connect functionality.
